It’s all of our old friends! Literally. They are old now. It’s OK, that is just what happens. It’s called aging, and everybody’s super into doing it. (“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to realize that I’m, like, 45 years old now.”) I guess Fred Savage was too busy directing an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or whatever it is that he does these days. Come on, Fred Savage! Even a photo of Andre the Giant managed to find time in its busy schedule. Anyway, nostalgia is a terrible disease that should never be indulged as it saps what little precious energy there is from our ability to focus on the here and now, but hey! Look! A rep for the family tells TMZ, “Peter Falk, 83-year-old Academy Award nominee and star of television series, ‘Columbo’, died peacefully at his Beverly Hills home in the evening of June 23, 2011.

[He] is survived by his wife, Shera, of 34 years and two daughters from a previous marriage.

In addition to the television series Columbo, Peter Falk is also known for films including The Princess Bride, Wings of Desire, and Brigadoon, and he was twice nominated for an Oscar. Aww. We’ll miss you, Mr. Falk!

R.I.P. Peter Falk. You are in heaven now, narrating The Princess Bride to the angels.

I know that the stories didn’t exactly come true in the Princess Bride, that’s more of a Neverending Story thing, but whoever made this definitely saw that movie and is trying to capitalize on its particular brand of wonder and imagination but in basically the worst way. I fear for the generation that grows up referencing this movie and having unironic nostalgic viewing parties of this movie with their adult friends. Not that I do that. I don’t do that. But that movie is so beloved, someone probably does that. Lindsay probably does. Lindsay gets together every week with her girlfriends for cosmos and Princess Bride. Good for her. It’s so cute that Lindsay does that.

Also, I don’t know about you, but my imagination doesn’t use CGI. It’s strictly mechanical effects and green screen, with no CGI whatsoever. Old school.

“Babies: a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.” is cute. Whatever, I’d watch CSPAN if they promised a Princess Bride themed episode. Who wants to bet something happens on Scrubs tonight that is “inconceivable!”?

Scrubs has always been one of those shows that you never think to watch, but when you do, it’s pretty funny, but also kind of shrill and annoying. (My Name Is Earl suffers from the same disease.) Though it’s still possible ABC might pick the show up for another season, Scrubs‘ final episode on NBC will air May 15. There were rumors that an episode called “My Princess”, based on the best movie of all time The Princess Bride, would never see the light of day, but creator/producer Bill Lawrence put them aside today, telling TV Guide.com’s Michael Ausiello:
