Is everybody excited for Valentine’s Day? Is everyone saying “YESSSSSSSS” right now? “Yessss, I love writing a card for someone and eating dinner or just not doing anythingggggg.” Is that what you’re saying? I can’t hear you. Can you say your responses louder? HELLO? I know we still have a bunch of days before Valentine’s Day, but this is our last GIF FRIDAY before it, so I’ve included some V-Day GIFs in the bunch. Aww, here’s a bit of sad news. (Both “sad” and “news” being used the way they’ve always been intended, everything’s going great.) In a recent interview with The Herald Scotland, Robert Pattinson spoke about how his involvement in and the reaction to the Twilight franchise have changed the way he looks at filmmaking. The things college courses in 2015 will be made of, no doubt. Though you’d predict his response might be something like, “They changed how I didn’t know movies could be so good,” his answer is actually something QUITE DIFFERENT! And very sad. Here is the quote, from Us, which is the source I’m quoting it from even though I’ve already stated that it’s originally from another source:

“Doing something like Twilight opens doors and it closes others. You can say, ‘Oh if I was still unknown, then no one would judge me,’” Pattinson said. “But at the same time, nobody would give a shit either.”

Oh, Robert. You poor, poor baby. We all go through times of self-doubt — times of thinking that no one would give a shit about us, had we not been a part of whatever very successful franchise we’re a part of currently. That’s just life. Ups and downs. So I’ve put together a little something for you, and I hope it brightens your day — even just the slightest bit.

How Should The Twilight Franchise Continue After The Final Movie?

Certainly you didn’t think the Twilight franchise would die after Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 2, the final movie based on the final novel, comes out in November, right? That is what you expected? Because they’ve drawn this out so far already? And it is actually done now, so what more could they possibly do? Ugh, youuu guuuuysssss. Why are you always so dumb about everything? On Friday, the chief executive of Lions Gate Entertainment (Jon Feltheimer) (you knew that at least, right?) (GUYS.) acquired the Twilight film studio, Summit Entertainment, for $412.5 million dollars because he thinks this old garbage machine still has some miles on it. From The LA Times:

Asked whether the franchise would continue in some form for Lions Gate, he added, “It’s hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn’t have ongoing value. It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is ‘Boy I hope so.’”

One person close to the acquisition deal but not authorized to speak publicly suggested that because Lions Gate, unlike Summit, has a television production unit, it could adapt “Twilight” for the small screen.

Asked whether there was a possibility of bringing “Twilight” to television, Feltheimer answered, “I would certainly hope so.”

We would ALL certainly hope so, Feltheimer, because we ALL understand how empty money ideas work. But a Twilight television series featuring the same plot lines fans have seen twice before and none of the actors that made the movies so attractive to them certainly can’t be the last wring for this slightly damp vampire blood towel. Since this was a short week, I’ve spend every day — which is almost not an exaggeration — thinking that it was an entirely different day. So you can imagine my surprise when I awoke this morning to find out that it was FRIDAY!!!! “GIFS! GIFS! GIFS! GIFS!” And that is meant to be read, no duh, like the Aresenio Hall Show “woof.” Not to get off on a tangent, but obviously TO get off on a tiny tangent, why is it so hard to find a YouTube video of the Arsenio Hall Show “woof”? If there are two things that I think should be ABUNDANT on YouTube they are clips of the Arsenio Hall Show “woof” and clips of “Nick Burns, Your Company’s Computer Guy,” and as far as I can tell there are 0 of either. What’s the deal with that? Life can be super weird sometimes. But you know what’s not weird and is actually perfect? GIFs! Today at 1PM ET/10AM PT, Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will become immortalized in real life (finally) when they put their handprints and footprints in the cement outside of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. NO DOY! From our newspaper of choice, The Hollywood Reporter:

The trio’s hand and foot prints will be immortalized outside Hollywood’s legendary Chinese Theatre during a Nov. 3 ceremony, inducting them into an elite club of just over 250 members.

250 people?! That is not a lot of people! Luckily these three people are super good and I would never suggest that they didn’t deserve to put their hands in the cement outside of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre so when aliens invade our planet 100 years from now they’ll know what size Taylor Lautner’s hands were, but holy moly! What an elite group. But I’m sure you all knew this was happening today, correct? You’re all already there to witness it for yourselves? And if you couldn’t get there for some health reason or whatever you’re having a party at home? Right? GUYS! Hellooooooo, guys? Are you telling me that you haven’t planned your party yet? New York magazine’s Vulture blog has a cute little story today about the time that Hugh Jackman and Baz Luhrman sang karaoke with Robert Pattinson in Japan. It is all very typical and exactly what you would expect from a quaint anecdote about singing karaoke with nothing super weird and completely unexpected thrown in there that you definitely didn’t see coming and are not clear on why everyone else is acting like it’s the normal way that things work. If anything it sounds like the evening was TOO normal.

Once upon a time in 2009, on a fateful flight to Japan, Hugh Jackman noticed that he was on the plane with mussed-head Twilight star Robert Pattinson. “I didn’t talk to him at all on the flight, because he’s this really tall guy with a hood over his head literally, and every time I’d go to the bathroom, I’d be like, ‘Man, that guy takes some serious sleeping pills,’ because this was him [slumps over] the whole time,” Jackman recalls to MTV. But when the plane landed and Pattinson struck up a conversation with Jackman and Baz Luhrmann, the two Aussies decided to invite him to a karaoke bar.
