Ludacris And Bill O’Reilly Squash Their Legendary Feud

Radar Online is reporting this morning that rapper Ludacris has squashed his legendary beef with television presenter Bill O’Reilly.

In an exclusive interview the controversial rapper confirmed he confronted the conservative television host at a recent event and extended the hip hop hand of friendship.

“I identified that I wanted to speak to him when I saw his name on the guest list. I looked at what table he was on, and I walked my a** straight to that table.

“He wasn’t expecting to see me, at all. The look on his face when he saw me approaching… priceless.”

Of the peace-brokering, Ludacris said: “The conversation we had was confidential, however, let’s just say it was a good conversation and good came out of it.

“From there, we came to a common ground. To be honest with you, we came together and did an event for charity – as crazy as it sounds. Perhaps everything happens for a reason.”

Check it out, young dudes who understand the importance of progress but that it can’t come at the expense of other human beings or the environment, and all you neat gals who aren’t going to let society’s idea of what is expected of you get in the way of your dreams. Today I’ve got some pretty hip jazz to spit with you about some new music I think you are really going to dig on. You know, music is supes imports in helping young people define themselves. I know you’re probably looking at me and laughing at my walking stick and my beard with pieces of food in it, but I used to be just like you. MEGABass! I used to collect these things called compact discs and my friends and I would make each other mixtapes, which were kind of like iTunes playlists, except that they were the size of an iPod and you needed a special machine to listen to them and they were only 90 minutes long, and they only worked if you were traveling up hill both ways. Aiwa. The point is, I understand how formative and transformative music can be for you, and what a central role it can play in your social life.

That is why I think you are really going to lurv (that’s a word you guys are still using, right? Dope!) this new video from Justin Bieber. It features a guest rap from celebrated 45-year-old musician Ludacris, and also you can see Drake standing around in the background for some reason, which I guess is not so much to do with the music, but he’s famous, and that is what music is all about, right? Famous friendships! One day the fiery passion you feel for music now will fade into the background, and music will take its place among books and movies and coffee and sandwiches as a thing that you simply enjoy from time to time, but right now it is everything. The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Max Payne

Ugh. You know, not everything has to be adapted into a movie. Someone should tell Hollywood about this fun fact. I love Monopoly (C.R.E.A.M.), but I’m more than happy to leave it as a funtimes party game for the whole family, and keep Gordon Gecko as Uncle Monopoly out of it. Was it always like this? Someone call their grandpa and find out if it was always like this. I’m willing to believe that it was always like this, but Barack Obama is president now, so it’s time for us to move forward as a people. We are mature enough as a nation and a culture that we should be able to say “Hey, how about we don’t make Diet Pepsi: The Movie.” Obviously, I understand why someone got confused and thought Max Payne was a good idea for a movie. We’ve all been up at three in the morning playing our Playstation 2 with Cheetoes-stained fingers thinking “This would be great if I could just lay here and didn’t have to move my fingers so much.” America is #1. Then again we’ve also all been up at three in the morning playing our Playstation 2 with Cheetoes-stained fingers and thinking, “They should make a movie about how great your bare feet feel when you rub them into the carpet, starring Zoe Saldana without any clothes” (all of us have thought this, without exception) and Hollywood is smart enough to know that they don’t need to spend millions of dollars turning that into a huge disappointment, so they’re not ALL dumb.

Anyway, Max Payne was a very bad movie. Let us talk about why.

Say Goodbye To Ludacris, Guys

What a long, strange journey it has been for Ludacris! He’s always been kind of a silly rapper, inserting lots of crass comedy into his rhymes, like some kind of gully Weird Al Yankovic, and his radio edits are practically for children. But he inserted just enough boasting and cursing (because that is how you keep it real) to maintain a certain level of respect and enthusiasm in his audience. His acting career obviously signaled his desire to break out to a wider audience, but his fight with Bill O’Reilly suggested that he was willing to do what it took to bring his original fans along for the ride, and his ill-conceived political song for the 2008 election showed he could still make the type of boldly terrible decisions of an artist who hasn’t settled or pandered.

Well that is all over now. Here is a video of him performing his song “How Do You Sleep?” with teen idol Jesse McCartney on Ellen. Basically the gulliest.

Why Doesn’t Everybody Hate Chris?

In his new music video, Ludacris asks the question, why is it that “Everybody Hates Chris”? The lyrics suggest that it’s because he’s so successful with women and bank accounts that he’s a target for the haters. Sure, Tila Tequila knows what he’s talking about. I think it’s because despite the fact that his music tends to combine raunchiness and corny humor, a lose-lose combination, like some kind of Weird Al Jerky Boys of hip hop, it’s still super catchy and somehow works so well that you love it anyway. Hate that.

The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Crash

When I told a friend of mine that we were going to be talking about Crash this week, the race one, not the fetish sex one, my friend said that it didn’t belong in this Hunt. She said that everyone agrees it shouldn’t have won Best Picture over Brokeback Mountain, and that because of that false victory it’s become an easy target, but that in reality it’s a decent, touching movie. First of all, just as a reminder to everyone, the way the Hunt works is any movie can be nominated, iif it’s not the worst movie then I will say as much and we will move forward. But no movie is above being nominated. Second of all, Crash is not a decent and touching movie. In fact, it’s such a horrible mess of inflammatory racism and reductive clichés that while it’s not the WMOAT in the way that, say, Baby Geniuses is the WMOAT, it’s the WMOAT in the way that Birth of a Nation is the WMOAT. This movie should be sentenced to 100 million hours of community service.

Raising Awareness About The Environment One Egomaniac At A Time

I saw this preview for Planet Green’s Battleground Earth: Ludacris vs. Tommy Lee before the Dark Knight (jealous?), and it made me LOLOLOLOL. Mostly just the part where SPOILER ALERT Ludacris tells an old lady “I’m here to save planet Earth, and I want to replace your shower with a very eco-friendly shower.”

There’s an article in the New York Daily News today to publicize the show, and you might be surprised to discover (you will not be surprised to discover) that executive producer Leslie Greif doesn’t actually give a shit about the planet.

College Hill Doesn’t Stop Being Polite And Keeps It Real

Either Mr. Gum made a mistake hiring me, or the internet is racist, because I keep discovering TV shows that I’d never even heard of that are well into their millionth season, and I’m like, wait, whuuuuuuuuuuut? It’s probably both, incidentally. I should be fired, and the internet should go to diversity training. Anyway, College Hill, which I stumbled upon like a baby stumbles upon its face, despite its apparently long-running popularity, features a group of college students living together in a reality TV house for a semester. The thing that’s weird about the show, though, and I know I’ve only seen one episode out of all five seasons, but I couldn’t find anyone to hate. Weird. The kids all seemed pretty genuine and to actually care about each other. There isn’t even a single stripper or cutter living in the house! I don’t know how the show has lasted on the air this long. Here is a clip in which Ludacris, who I’ve learned is contractually obligated by the President of Entertainment to appear on BET every 24 minutes, pays a visit to the College Hill house.

See what I mean? You were crying, dog, you were crying at how unannoying these people seem. Clearly they should not be on TV, as that is reserved for the wretched. SIDE NOTE: I personally relate to this show because every time I am sitting in my living room I think I’m about to have a Pizza Hut delivery.
