Dear Black Entertainment Television,

First let me say how excited I am to have received your “Cease and Desist” letter. It is the first letter of this nature that I have ever received, and as such it legitimizes me. What your letter says is that someone thinks that this bullshit is read by enough people (it is not), and that it matters (it doesn’t). Someone thinks that I have violated their rights! Success! A “Cease and Desist” letter is like a blog’s Bar Mitzvah. Now videogum.com is a man.com. It would have been nicer if I could have received the letter right before Mother’s Day, to fill our brunch with pride, but a Father’s Day miracle isn’t bad. Anyway, thank you for that.

Now, I’m no lawyer, but I’ve watched every iteration of Law & Order at least once, except for Trial By Jury, but no one watched Trial By Jury.

Dear Black Entertainment Television,

I just wanted to follow up with you after my letter this morning in regards to your “Cease and Desist” letter. Per your request, I’ve gone through all of the videogum posts in which a B.E.T. show is discussed and/or promoted and removed the disputed video content, to be replaced with the following image.

And as promised, I will no longer discuss your station on this site.

Congratulations, and good luck with the slow decline into national irrelevance.

I think it goes without saying that people who wear Superman t-shirts have it coming. When you see someone wearing a Superman t-shirt, don’t you just want to shoot them in the chest and when they start to bleed, be like “I guess not”? I just made that HILARIOUS joke up on my own. It’s mine. Totally original. I don’t steal jokes. So it was fun last night when one of the coaches on Iron Ring laid into a contender with an injured ankle.

“Do you need your cape? You got the S, motherfucker, do you need your cape?” Classic. I also like when they show off their messed up knees. What happened to all those guys’s knees? I like to imagine this angry rant directed at other t-shirts.

Batman t-shirt: Do you need your wonderful toys? Where do you get those wonderful toys, motherfucker?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt: Do you need your katana blade, Leonardo?
No Fear t-shirt: Do you need your menthol cigarettes and restraining order from your ex-wife, motherfucker?

Apparently there is no “team” in “blogs” or else you guys would have done your jobs (tips@videogum.com) and I wouldn’t be finding out about Iron Ring by accident last night.

Well, the committee can stop looking for who to give the award for Most Amazing Show to. Are you kidding me? Is this why we haven’t cured cancer yet? Because all of science has been bent on creating the most perfect show? An MMA reality show starring Ludacris, Nelly, Lil John, and Dipset, hosted by Funkmaster Flex? With a ring-master in a mumu who, instead of saying “Fight!” or “Let’s get it on!” says “Man up!” Or is this the cure for cancer?
