Ashton Kutcher’s Spread trailer, you guys:

Whoa. After seeing the Spread poster I thought that the movie looked awful, but it turns out I had no idea. What an awful, AWFUL looking movie. Yuck. And, the official description of the movie is a fucking liar:

SPREAD is a fresh [Ed. note: fresh!], funny [Ed. note: sure!], and racy look at the trials and tribulations of sleeping your way to a life of privilege in Los Angeles. Comic and karmic, the film is an “immorality tale” about a gorgeous guy who gives women what they want in order to live exactly as he likes. In SPREAD, Nikki (Ashton Kutcher) isn’t a gigolo. He’s a sexual grifter, a fun-loving, freeloading hipster who understands his greatest assets are his looks and sexual prowess, which he uses to charm his way into the hearts of the city’s richest women and enjoy their lifestyle. Nikki gets a free place to live, fantastic gifts, A- list access, and plenty of sex.

Um, nice try. I’m not Professor of Hooker Studies over here, but I’m pretty sure that if you have sex with people to get a house and gifts, you are a hooker. I’m also pretty sure that “sexual grifter” is a synonym for “type of hooker.” Excuse me, prostitution whore. And it only gets worse from there:

HBO has a new show coming out called Hung about a school teacher who becomes a prostitute. It is supposed to be quirky and lightly comic. Well that just sounds awful. Here is the trailer, you guys. SPOILER ALERT: it also looks awful:

Wait, what? That’s a show? That’s not a show. How is that a show? This is an advertisement? Like in the way that an advertisement is supposed to sell you something? Because I am not sold. I am the opposite of sold. The worst part is that the pilot was directed by Alexander Payne. I like(d) Alexander Payne. Oh well, GOODBYE ALEXANDER PAYNE. You can just see the headlines now:

Really HBO? A Show Called Hung?

The new president of HBO has greenlit her first show, a series from the creators of The Riches called Hung. Guess which of these sentences correctly describes the show:

A) A reality show about the daily life of American Idol reject William Hung.

B) An experimental, flashback-based series that takes place entirely in the mind of a man looking back on his life in the few seconds after he’s been hung, but before he dies.

C) A series based “on a well-endowed man who used to be a sports star in high school and is now fading into mediocrity in his middle-aged years as a father and high school basketball coach. His life starts to turn around when he finds out a way to use his best, private-part asset.”

If you answered C, you should be the president of HBO, running around greenlighting obvious, unimaginative show pitches. It’s like they opened up a slang dictionary, closed their eyes, chose a word, and wrote an entire show around it. And for the love of god, American Beauty came out NINE YEARS AGO, are we still doing this frustrated middle-aged suburban dude sexual awakening thing? I’m mad. I’m actually really angry that this stupid show is going to exist. I’m not even going to hate-watch it.
