You guys, no matter what your exercise routine is, it’s important to stretch. Stretching promotes muscle growth and toning, and it helps prevent injury. Even without a work-out, stretching is just a really great way to start your morning, preparing the body for the day ahead. Angela Lansbury knows what I’m talking about!

OK. Well. Admittedly, this particular stretching routine took kind of a weird turn at the end there. Stretching does not always have to involve an octogenarian woman self-pleasuring in a bubble-filled jacuzzi while explaining the sexual possibilities of later life as long as one remains open and honest to the inevitable physical changes wrought by time. And I do think that my initial point remains largely the same: even if you are not a woman of a certain age confronting the universal conflict between sexual desire and physical reality, stretching is key. Okay, WHAT IS WITH all these videos of famous women in the ’80s demonstrating their beauty routines, taking bubble baths, and smugly demonstrating their fabulousness under the guise of “helping” others? First, there was Vanna White’s terribly smug instructions on why we should all be as thin as she is, then the archeologists found Angela Lansbury rubbing lotion on her skin, and today Everything Is Terrible brings us actress Donna Mills talking makeup tips and pretending to answer the phone in her favorite puffy ’80s outfits. I think we all need to call our parents tonight and ask them wtf was going on with that decade.

Well, apparently there was something in the 1980s where famous women made videos instructing normal women on how to take care of their bodies, and we just need to accept it for the strange thing it is and enjoy the excerpts as they appear one-by-one on YouTube. Last month, we saw video evidence that Vanna White was the original Gwyneth Paltrow, and today, thanks to Fey Friends, I’ve found the video I’m going to start each day with: Angela Lansbury rubs the aloe lotion on her skin, and tells us how to love ourselves, take baths, and be happy. This is a must-watch.
