We’ve all seen the exciting Dark Knight trailers when we went to the theater for Spiderwick Chronicles opening weekend, but here’s the first TV spot:

Nothing too much new here, but it’s nice to know that there are going to be so many more quips than we had thought. Before there was just Alfred with his “The Ferrari then, sir?” nonsense. Now there’s Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) and Detective Gordon (Gary Oldman) quipping it up like they’re palling around backstage before a taped tryout for Whose Line Is It Anyway. They should probably have called this move The Quips Knight, or Batman and the Quips of the Round Table, or Sir Quips a Lot. I could do this all day, and I might.

BREAKING: Harvey Dent As Two Face

The big Dark Knight news this week is how the new trailer features much more Harvey Dent and hints of his transformation into the infamous villain Two Face. Two Face usually looks kind of silly. But Christopher Nolan has proven himself capable of darkening up the corners, so there is plenty of anticipation for what he’ll do with this character. In particular, and this is something the Batman franchise has always lacked, will he be able to make Two Face’s deformation look convincing enough that you’d actually believe Dent suffered enough to fully abandon his progressive political roots and turn to a life in crime. I don’t know about you, but I think the leaked concept art provides a resounding yes.

Oh, I’m sorry, am I interrupting you? New Dark Knight trailer:

This is great, but I think the first trailer was better. It was more concise, and that shot of the Joker in jail was nuts. This one is a little all over the map (Harvey Dent). Don’t get me wrong, we’re all wishing we could take a powerful dose of Waitmate and wake up on July 18th.

The Lamborghini then? That is the worst part ever. Lamborghinise nuts. Watch the whole thing in HD here.
