when my husband asked me to marry him – for a second i thought it was going to be a public proposal. we always get tamago at sushi restaurants as like our sushi dessert (bourgeouisie barf i know) and that night they forgot it from our order and i PANICKED thinking my engagement ring was about to roll out wrapped in sea weed and egg. i talked myself down by thinking ‘ok, you love this man, he means well, he thinks it’s cute, you’ll get over it’. and thank god he asked me when we got back to his apartment last night.
so yeah, public engagements. the worst.
