I’m just picturing some Naval P.R. guy reading Highlights and thinking Goofus and Gallant would be much improved by condescending sexism.

Oh, Pontiac’s been hit so hard the last couple years :( . Still much nicer than my side of town was; trees make a big difference.

Roseville, it’s by Warren.

Every time I see mention of Violet and Daisy on the webz, I misread it as “Violet and Claire” and get trapped in a well of nostalgia for how me and my junior high friends worshiped Francesca Lia Block. When you live in depressed, cement nightmare metro Detroit towns, ridiculous prose fairy tales set in California are just about the most glamorous things in the world. And I bet adapting Weetzie Bat would make for a better movie than Suckerpunch/Hit Girl/ Hannah/ Kill Bill/ Whatever this is. End thirteen year old me rant.

Morning Monsters! My grandfather lives in Watertown, a couple blocks from all the commotion, so I got a phone call from Mom at midnight and was up until five listening to the police scanner and continuously updating reddit. When we finally got a hold of him, he had slept through it and had no idea about the lockdown. Fun world we have happening this week.

When I was fourteen I went to a concert and a much older, incredibly intoxicated man hit on me all night by repeating I was ‘stellar, just fucking uber stellar sexy’. In an attempt to dissuade his interest, my friend and I told him we were gay and dating, so he got really excited and called his lesbian daughter and shouted over Mudvayne for an hour to her on the phone about my uber stellar-ness.

I’ve been in line since the last movie came out, and I didn’t even like it. Book loyalty!

I haven’t exactly been commenting up a storm, but can I just mention that the absence of up votes does make it more welcoming for us fringe members? Videogum is awesome because of it’s tight knit community, but it’s intimidating for newbies. I mean, yeah yeah, validation needs blah blah, but you see a regular rack up fifty points for an obscure inside joke and, unless you’re terribly witty, get nothing. Not to say witless comments should be up voted, but popularity status matters more. IDK. Just replace this whole paragraph with a ‘These guys know what I’m talking about’ starving children picture.

Y’know what, I think we’re the right ones here. I say we continue on being correct and most importantly, never say this word at all.

I’ve been mispronouncing ‘jeah’ since the summer Olympics apparently. Not that I use the word conversationally, but now I feel dumber than Ryan Lochte.

Idk, they got one and two year juviesentences. There’s cases of teenage weed dealers getting harsher punishments. I prefer to be upset about every aspect of this case and the culture it reflects.

Dude, I read the comments on one CNN article (pro tip guys, don’t do that) and they were outraged the victim wasn’t charged with underage drinking. The phrase ‘She got away scot free!’ was used. And then I had a rage seizure and died.

my dog splays her legs in the exact same ‘prone position’! do you think it’s a back issue? it’s really really cute, i just never encountered a dog that chilled that way on the reg so i get paranoid.

I hate to reveal how ignorant I am in the science field and how all I know comes from the movies, but according to ‘Contact’ aren’t radio signals broadcast into space so 30 Seconds To Mars has already had their shitty music out there trashing up the joint?

My uncle went with one of the no-name Wahlbrothers to a NKOTB concert once! He had a backstage pass around his neck and some teenage girls jumped on him, ripping his shirt and giving him a bloody lip trying to yank it off him. Fun!

Yes! That is exactly it.

I’m related to the Walhbergs. Something about their grandfather was my great-something’s sibling. Apparently, their mother lived in the same three story brownstone as my grandmother, back in the days where families did that, but my grandmother’s mother forbid her from hanging out with her because she was considered trashy. Now all my extended aunts descend en masse on a regular basis to their restaurants hoping for special treatment, just a giant gaggle of screeching Irish Catholic matrons name dropping over platters of Wahlburgers. Good thing they’re preserving the class level of the family. Anyway, cool water Cuz!

Congrats!

Thank god New Jersey did it’s due diligence verifying his identity, otherwise this might have been the perfect switcheroo crime.

I did back to back marathon reading of the entire series too, and AFFC is an awful boring downer right after the awesomeness of ASOS. But, having re-read the books out of order a bunch of times since, there are cool parts to it that don’t resonate at first. Unfortunately, you start thinking the only reason Feast sucks is because you want to get on with everyone else’s story line, until book five comes along and oof. All your favorite characters you’ve been dying to catch up with are the worst suddenly.

My breakfast has been half a bottle of tums because I’m too old for Oscar drinking games. Been re-watching season one of GoT all last week, so so excited.

She eats like crazy, it just doesn’t stay in her system longer than a few minutes ifyaknowwhatimean. (I mean so, so much pooping.) The docs gave me cans of, I’m assuming the equivalent of gruel for this week, just to help soothe the tummy long enough for antibiotics to absorb. After that, it’s pretty much a balance of not letting her scarf until she gets sick while fostering a sense of food security so she calms down about it eventually. Thanks for the advice tho, and good on you for fostering!

I bought into this year-long plan thing? Thirty bucks a month for unlimited check ups, tests, etc. I hope your dog’s doing better!
