Before I discovered wine, I literally used to put on youtube videos of Richard Dawkins lectures to help me get to sleep. Old British guys talking about biology can be very soothing.

Thank you for explaining why last night’s was the best episode of the Office all season. Now can we have a show where Amelie just makes fun of Tyra Banks for half an hour?

I’ve decided Perfect Couples isn’t terrible, it just tries too hard. It’s not unwatchable like Outsourced though.

The thing about being an actual teenager, for me at least, was that I would never, ever want to watch a tv show about teenagers. That was fun when I was younger, and even in middle school, but by high school the boring and frustrating reality of being a teenager meant watching an unrealistic portrayal more annoying, plus those shows are usually awful. Even when our lives were interesting, what with the sex and the drugs and all, it’s not like I would’ve watched a show about my friends. By that time I was really into Sex and the City.

I just wanted to un-ironically say that I’m really glad you wrote the first (and second, but mostly first) half of this post. I really thought I was alone in not trying to blame even a political party I hate for the killing rampage of a lunatic.

I could not read this because I really, unabashedly Love this movie, and not on a guilty pleasure level. It makes me feel warm and gooey and happy inside and I just think it’s great. And I have good taste! I watch movies with subtitles!

I know there are other monsters out there with some love for this one. Admit it! There is credibility in numbers.

The greatest part of this post is that you suggest that being a zombie might not be that bad. Good point! No one ever asks the zombies.

Now that there is a reason for me to explain why I hated this movie, I can’t remember. Maybe because I saw it in 2005? But really, this movie has some elements that make good movies, and it’s definitely not the worst, but it’s not a good movie. I’m pretty sure it’s possible to make a critique of America about characters that I can give a shit about. Also, a critique of American bloodlust? So many movies are about that and it doesn’t excuse anything.

I upvoted you for being from Chapel Hill. My vote goes to Bill Murray, just make sure to look very depressed.

Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes! And then I’ll harass trick-or-treaters with stories of how much better comics were in my day.

We should probably make a sitcom out of this. I’ll call CBS.

Wrong. Gabe gets paid for being funny and having a really good website. If this wasn’t an awesome website I would be reading buzzfeed and the Daily What. Could you do what Gabe does? I couldn’t do what Gabe does. Because I’m not very funny! I’m sure Gabe couldn’t do my job either. Which is why we all get paid to do the things we do. I don’t know, this comment is badly written. Anyway, I like this website and I like Gabe so lets just keep up the good work here.

That is actually a really good tuck-job. Rupaul would approve.

Violence can be justice. I shouldn’t even have to tell you how ineffective the police are against rape and how seldom people get convicted for it. And why, exactly, is putting someone in a cell that much more justice-y? Vigilante justice is still justice. Justice justice. Justice.

I have a problem with this poster, for a few reasons, but I have absolutely no problem with the content of the original movie. A woman who is brutally raped has the right to turn that around on her attackers, and it’s cathartic in a pulpy sort of way to see that happen. Killing her attackers doesn’t make her soulless; she’s not drowning kittens. Cold-blooded? Sure, but she has to be. Maybe the point at which violence should be glorified is when it’s against rapists and nazis.
