I just think, the movie exists, and therefore pretty much proves that Shrek is real. Otherwise, why would all these men have created these sections of film that were out of sequence originally and put them together to make one cohesive narrative which tells of Shrek’s existence? It is totally legit to have the opinion that Girls is not a good show, but for as much criticism as she receives for having famous parents and opportunities most of would never have, I feel like no one would care about her connections if she was a man. Her story is the story of every other dude in hollywood, but everyone seems to be pretty okay with privileged men producing shitty quality work.

no one’s sexual orientation should matter to the world. but i guess the idea that compels people here is that when celebrities like tom cruise and john travolta appear to go to lengths to hide or deny their sexuality, it seems like they are making a statement that homosexuality is wrong and gross in general, not just on an ashamed personal level. continuing to orchestrate a myth about being straight manly dudes is what they are comfortable with and that is no one’s business, but at the same time it kind of continues to back the idea that there is something wrong with being anything other than a big hetero man hunk.
As far as I know Jared Leto is still Jared Leto and NOT Jordan Catalano, and Jordan Catalano doesn’t really exist but still totally ruined my expectations for high school so whatever, god.

Im quite aware that 99% of the people who are fans of this guy probably dont know anything about genocide that they couldnt watch in a fucking Kony 2012 video and that we are not dealing with Judith Butler scholars in the audience here. While he may not be literally ‘encouraging rape,’ he IS encouraging asserting power over women so they are frightened into doing what men want. that’s what he was doing, he was threatened by her actually challenging him to think about what he has said, and his immediate response was to intimidate her with the threat of sexual violence because it is something women are vulnerable to. He is encouraging the kind of behavior that often manifests itself as rape.
