I saw this a few days ago and I agree with you on a lot of points. But I’m pretty sure they did wait six months after getting married. Remember when they went to the US Embassy? I think that was six months later. The lady basically told them that she wouldn’t be able to get a marriage visa because of the prior visa offense. So in order to get back to the US, she’d still need to get rid of the ban. That’s what they’d been working on all along. So since their last resort was exhausted, I’m assuming they just decided to give up and go their separate ways. Then she finally got the call, but by then it was basically too late.
