The fault in your logic is that NBC should keep Conan over Jay because Conan is a better comedian and creates a better show. Perhaps that is true. But NBC is not out to create quality, they are a subsidiary of a publicly traded company and as such must serve the desires of their shareholders: namely, making money. Jay’s show was still massively successful when he got pushed out in favor of Conan. Conan didn’t do as well. And Jay’s new show bombed. NBC learned from their mistake and will now try to fix their error. It’s the economy, stupid.
