I really wish I could find a video of the Poochie press conference from the Simpsons. Life imitates art!
You know, honestly, it’s cool to LOVE something with all your might and everything, but when it comes to knit-picking obsessively over your love, you sometimes just gotta let it sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.
Yeah, those creators might be smug, but you know, if you created something of FICTION and had people constantly pointing out every technical inconsistancy like it somehow destroyed all validity of your work, I’m sure you’d become a little jaded and grim.
It’s like the unending, overanalytical discussions of Inception. It’s a great work of FICTION, folks! Let just sit back and enjoy the film for what it is, a great popcorn flick. There’s a whole wide REAL world out there, and all of us should learn to enjoy it.
Even with 2012 around the corner and all, this Gif made my week so much more bearable!
Oh man, can I just say that the scene of Evil-Dan-Akroyd-Gastropod-Nightmare-Death-Machine rockin’ out on the organ during “Same Song” is extra cringe-inducing? Especially the slew of early-90′s-pull-down-the-shades reaction shots.
There was a great tell-all written by a former employee that REALLY emphasizes how much of an asshole Tony Brummel is. He’s a fucking psycopath.
And their music sucks.
Shirvell just keeps one-upping the peaks of absolute psychosis. If this guy doesn’t get fired by the end of the week, I’ll cry.
Did James O’Keefe fans just downvote me? Sheesh.
*Vomit*
Thanks for ruining my day. Such a large pic of a vile fugly mufucka. And that acne! Yikes!
I almost want to downvote out of sheer terror at that ghastly image.
This is totally Shirvell’s new boyfriend, you guys:
Yeah, can I just say that Videogum is one of the only places on the web where people are respectful and thoughtful? No trolls either!
Also, wouldn’t most of the bacteria be killed off once the food is cooked?
I haven’t seen this show either, but from what I’ve read here and elsewhere, I don’t think the writers put that much nuance into that joke.
I also think using “This show is offensive to X, but I have a friend who is X and likes it, so it can’t be offensive!” as your sole defense is trite, immature, and lazy. I know of girls out there who like Tucker Max, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a horrible, horrible misogynist.
You have a point, but I really don’t think that seems to be the case here; I think when you have a show with base jokes that amount to condescending and tired stereotypes of the “You’re food/name/culture is so wacky and ridiculous!” variety, it’s not really a stretch for everyone to label it as “racist.”
I haven’t seen the show, because I already hate life enough, but from what I’m reading about it, it seems like the retraction to those offended by this show from NBC, fans(??), and backward-ass morons will be the typical “Come on! Lighten up! It’s just jokes, lol.” Uggghhhh….
It reminds me of YEARS ago when I caught some stand-up special on Comedy Central by Carlos Mencia (long before his Chappelle Show-For-Lobotomy-Patients program), and he would follow EVERY joke with some self-righteous explanation of “Come on! Lighten up! We need to laugh at our differences,” not realizing, you know, it didn’t save his material from being both offensive and painfully unfunny.
I think obryan is really David Brent.
I was really upset not only that some critics seemed to love this piece of garbage, but that pretty much every review seemed to take the “if it’s fake…” stance as if there was a good chance it might be real.
This is one of those few times I gladly screamed in my head “NO FUCKING SHIT!!!!”
In other words, this isn’t a case of politician-got-drunk-in-college or something irrelevent that really has no basis in their credentials as a politician. Her anti-masturbation campaign, although in the past, is massively troubling when one considers what her stand on any number of social issues might be. If she felt it important enough at one point to try to stop people from doing something safe with their own body in the privacy of her own home, what else might she be capable of? Some people change, sure, but some people sadly do not. It’s understandable and justified that people are concerned, just as they were with David Duke and his pre-politics KKK ties.
She also apparently supports gay-conversion camps. So yeah, O’Donnell sucks.
You don’t find it the least bit unsettling that she once devoted so much time and energy to put an end to something as commonplace and safe and normal as masturbation? Her quest doesn’t strike you as wrong-headed and foolish? Even if she has changed (which I doubt), she should have to answer to that.
