Ah, but then you’d have a rock(et) in your pocket.

Yeah, I know. But I tried.

How to improve this: all of those doves (I guess they’re doves) at the end? Make them all mini-pegasi. Or however you want to pluralize pegasus.

Ok, so, probably no one is even looking at this thread anymore, but there was so much love for old games that I had to ask:

Any Star Control 2 fans hanging around? The Ur-Quan Masters? Anyone?

Oof. “Correcting” your own grammar with something more grammatically incorrect. That’s rough, dawg.

Baman, what are we going to do with all these cakes that I made?

You obviously have an arsenal of interesting terminology. Put it to more clever use, please!

Sweet genius that’s adorable!

Whaddya mean, “Kinda”?

I’m not sure I like the implications of the idea that a former-girlfriend-model is a good trophy-thing to brag about. Other than that, though, excellent post.

Personally I question the sanity of anyone who would even show up at the altar to marry someone who would be on a show like this.

Riiiight, because Videogum doesn’t ever feature trying to insult people in humorous ways purely for the cleverness of those humorous insults. I’m not saying LL Bein’s comment was a work of genius, but it made me chuckle. You and I have different definitions of the word “bitch”, and that is fine. I just don’t see what the point is of making the whole thing into some kind of a big, political deal.

I think you’re trying too hard. This woman clearly cares way too much about Oprah, which makes it reasonable to figure she’s probably not bright and possibly a bitch. The joke doesn’t have to be anything more than that, and I enjoyed it just as LL Bein made it. Making it a gender politics issue is just uncalled-for.

Why would anyone downvote this?

I was hesitant to upvote because your comment has no discernible connection to the original post, but it made me laugh so you get the upvote anyway.

I wouldn’t even call it pretentious. It’s just awful. Earlier Wes Anderson films were endearing in that their characters would struggle through realizations and personal growth, rather than just having the kind of magic maturity epiphanies that are so commonplace in such movies. We saw flawed people becoming just a little bit better as humans. In The Darjeeling Limited, however, we have a bunch of characters all basically jumping up and down with their fingers in their ears going “LALALA I can’t hear you! I don’t want to grow I just want to be a terrible person” and ugh. So bad.

I cannot believe that no one has said this yet.

Look at what county this gentleman is running in, and realize:

He’s gone STARK RAVING MAD.
