When approached to comment on the controversial rumor that he would work in an ‘alien origins’ story into the upcoming Barack Obama biopic, Michael Bay responded:
“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script [. . .] we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

Jimmy Fallon is great. He’s really shown a humble side of himself in the past few years, and I gotta say it’s no act. I was on a small high school trip to boston around 3 years ago, and we spotted him walking past us in a mall food court (clam chowdah). A scrawny filipino kid that was with us ran up to him and bear hugged him (tiny filipino cub hug) and yelled out “Yes! I got to second base with Jimmy Fallon!”, and Fallon turned super red but he was extremely nice about being sexually assaulted in front of his girlfriend. Good Times

Is it really a violation of the constitution to put a christmas tree in a classroom? I say go for it, but be just as willing to put up a menorah and kinara. Be representative of everybody: majority and minority.

I mean the praying in schools is different. I would agree its unconstitutional to force kids do any of that, but at the same time I think it works against promoting tolerance when you make public space completely devoid of differences. I’m not particularly a religious type myself, but to grow up watching christian kids and muslim kids freely practice their own religion in the same space: that’s America. Right? I think that would definitely harbor less resentment and alienation when you get a kid that isn’t Muslim (for example), yet is well informed on Muslim practices -that kid would most likely be more respectful and tolerant of Muslim people.

slap me some five?

Not that I posted this to purposely get downvotes, but I had a strong feeling it would happen. Let me clarify: I’m not on Rick Perry’s side. I’m just saying it feels like people are focusing more on the homophobia in the video than they are on the personal attack this video poses to their intelligence. Not to place priority of one thing over the other. Homophobia is a horrible thing. Its just that regardless of whether or not he makes those allusions against gay people in the military (which isn’t the main point of this video), no matter what example he would have used, it still would have been an insult to rhetoric in general.

This video should be shown in public speaking classes when they go over fallacies (like really? someone actually suggested that dressing Rick Perry up straight out of a Sears/Walmart catalog would somehow benefit the video? “I like the way this guy wears a Dickies jacket. He’s got my vote”).

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks, and I’m merely under the impression that this is fake. I really do hope this is a joke. I’m not sure if it would be funnier, or just sad, if this were something that people made with serious intentions.

I think people aren’t looking into what he’s saying enough. I didn’t really take it as some overtly homophobic statement. I mean the first impression is, “yea, this guy’s an idiot.” because of his non-sequitur argument, but if he would’ve used some other example (NOT gay soldiers, of all things) he probably wouldn’t have had so many dislikes.

Clearly what he’s most bothered about is that you can’t give out candy canes to a room full of public school 1st graders. It sounds like thats what he wants to fight about. I mean he didn’t say anything completely against gays in the military (at least not in this video. I don’t watch every single Rick Perry video, theres only so many hours in the day), he’s probably just thinking “Even gay people in the military can have candy canes. Why not these 1st graders!?”

He still has a troll face.

To be fair to the offended women, I would totally watch Joel McHale spanking Donald Glover too.

Equality. It means everyone gets a spanking.

This deserves to be nominated for Best Non-existent Photo(s). And I deserve to be nominated for having the Ultimate Non-existent boner(s).

This thing deserves an Emmy -as in “L’Emmy eat that thing!”

I show myself out..

I think everybody just sold their laptops in anticipation of new macbook airs, so they haven’t been able to websurf as much as they normally do (which isn’t really a normal number). I assume everyone is going through the same dilemma I am.

Just wanted to say that I’ve never watched an episode of True Blood, but I’ve read EVERY single recap Gabe has done for it. The Walking Dead Recaps are up there too with these. Great Stuff, Gabe. Case in Point: Videogum needs more recaps.

Always Be Recapping

Great idea. I agree that there could be negative implications from it, but I think its seriously worth trying out. GREAT IDEA!

Agree on the log-in issue. I know this makes you and I seem really lazy, but it could definitely be easier.

I get what you’re saying (and everyone else seems to be saying) about Kelly’s voice. Although, I’ve usually found myself reading some of her posts, thinking “Hey! Gabe is not as ‘grumpy old man’ in this post as he usually is, it feels strangely relatable.” and then realizing it’s really one of Kelly’s posts. In other words, You’re very cool and relatable, Kelly. You’re like Gabe’s grand daughter that is waiting for Gabe to die so you can inherit his beloved 1972 Gran Torino.

I can see how this movie would lead you to believe that it wouldn’t qualify, but I think it totally qualifies. I’m going off of memory of course, I do not have it in me to rewatch and confirm. I won’t do it.

“In the end, all’s fair in love and gangster warfare in this hip, romantic comedy.”

No way.. I thought it was pretty good. If anything, you’re right to nominate Buried, because I’d like to see how it fares, but I’d have to disagree on the it being a bad movie. If anything, I might have an issue with the whole snake thing, but otherwise C’mon!

To be fair, the first episode of Happy Endings is probably the weakest of them all. Also, I’ve been watching them on Hulu, and it seems like the timeline is screwed up. Like I saw an episode with the food truck already in existence, before the food truck introduction episode -that was probably my own fault though. Anyway, the Jr. Wayans kid is definitely doing big things for the Wayans name. The biggest since WayneHead.
Keep giving it shots, T-sex. Its very Friends/How I Met Your Mother minus the corny sitcom laughs, plus a fat Chris O’Donnell.

I’m interested in hearing why you feel this way. I was trying to rationalize earlier, and the best I could come up with involved lack of creativity and the “beating of the dead horse” that are prison rape jokes. If thats the reason, I totally understand. Otherwise, I’d like to think that most(MOST) of the people that are in prison deserve to be there, and the unfortunate truth that rape and sexual abuse is prevalent within is really not that unfortunate at all because they’re, well, criminals.
