…But didn’t some kids kill themselves because of bullying at school…? :(

Not to be a super lame Hollywood sympathizer, but I can sort of see why actors would want to avoid coach. If you have to fly across the country at really early hours, often several times a week, I can imagine you’d want to do it in a comfortable chair with slightly better food available to you…

But then again, I’ve never flown first-class, so maybe it’s not that much better? :(

I second this request! I still watch GG all aloney on my owney because my life is sad and I don’t wanna talk about it, but the recaps would really help me feel better about everything! =(

Ugh, this video made me so sad, too. I couldn’t even get through it. I just want to give this kid a hug and tell him to return to the anonymity of real life.

I couldn’t understand a single word she said until her final scene, when I decided she had improved her crying skills since the Hamburglar days of “I killed someone!!!!”

I spy Clémence Poésy in this trailer, and that makes it worthwhile for me…

You missed the appropriate quotation marks around “people.”

I want to downvote this news, but I know it’s not your fault. You’re just the messenger. :/

I had not heard of this guy before today, but WOW do I not like him. I agree that film ‘criticism’ doesn’t really exist anymore due to the internet and widespread access anyone and everyone has to it. But does that have to be a bad thing? It’s not like I can’t make up my own mind about a movie just because Roger Ebert liked it.

I would rather take Freud Who, lol, because at least Mr. Who is not pretending to explain Freud.

I also enjoyed the movie as an action film, and was moved by Mr. DiCaprio’s need to move on from Ms. Cotillard. Annnnnd I <3 Joseph Gordon-Levitt forever.

But aside from those things? Nothing special for moi.

I actually felt the movie was TOO easy to understand. Nothing surprised me or shocked me. It was visually stunning, and I thought everyone did a great job (even Marion!), but I thought it was very run-of-the-mill in terms of story.

The concept was intriguing, but I didn’t see them go anywhere new or exciting with it.

OMG, I kept waiting for more of them together. I started resenting Leo for taking Ellen with him instead of leaving her with Joseph. :(

Um… At least he thinks his daughter is beautiful…? :/

I like to go see Twilight at the midnight showing at my hometown, because it seems like no one else at the theatre really likes it, either, so they all yell things at the screen and curse out Edward.

+19Posted on Jul 6th, 2010 | re: Twilight: Eclipse Open Thread, And A Temporary Goodbye To Twilight (99 comments)

My problem with the Twilight franchise is that I DON’T think it does what it’s supposed to, since it is poisoning the minds of our children. My best friend’s little sister thinks it’s oh-so-romantic for Edward to break into Bella’s room at night and watch her sleep before he’s even spoken to her. AAAAAAAAAAAH!

And, yet, I still read/watch. So I am the worst. But also, TEAM JACOB! I don’t care how many vampire babies he falls in love with, humans are better off mating with other living humans. That is all.

This annoys the crap out of me.

I’m sorry, but are there really that many people who want to see this particular swedish vampire movie but don’t know how to read or have an aversion to dubbing? What in Gabe’s name is the reason for making THE EXACT SAME MOVIE in English?

I didn’t even like the original to begin with (although, yes, it is a good movie. babies in love with old people masquerading as babies and killing for them is just not my thing), but I can already imagine how much worse this one will be. Through the magic of Hollywood, since all they are doing is basically translating.

That was so awkward. She didn’t even try to frame it well, as if it were a matter of vital importance, thus causing the auditorium to burst out laughing when they realize she is merely referring to the worst book series of all time. Comedy is dead.

Tangentially related, because it relates to things that are split up into parts even though you know how it ends: there very recently (like, it ended last week) was a tv show in Turkey that was based on a book. At the end of the book (SPOILERS), the girl kills herself because the guy won’t leave his fiancée, and the entire family is torn apart.

But since it was an entire television series, I guess some peeps got roped into thinking they might change stuff (a la True Blood, I guess). But… Nope. It just ended, and the EXACT SAME THING happened at the end. I didn’t watch the whole thing, but I saw the final episode with my friend, and she was horrified that they wasted 78 episodes of her life or whatever.

So, I guess… It could be worse than 8 movies based on 7 books that actually end happily?

I refuse to agree. Harry Potter is a MASTERPIECE, and Emma Watson’s eyebrows deserve an oscar. All the oscars, in fact.

Also, why is Meryl Streep so low?

THERE IS NO JUSTICE.

Any world in which Tiger Woods is more powerful than Britney Spears is not one in which I wish to live. :(

As long as Bill is involed, it’s disgusting.

But, yes. Last night’s performance was a keeper.

I’m not sure which way this goes (because I’m not cool), so either…

Yes, I would like Tara to become morbidly obese on a diet of clarified butter, or
No, I would not like Tara to ever be Bulletproof.

You should patent that name for when you produce the remake! Wait… can you patent movie titles?
