I don’t think this can possibly be true, but I’d imagine it’s a fairly awkward question to be asked on national television in your early 20′s?
I agree with you, pickpocket. Most of these plotlines and many of the scenes feel much more contrived and forced and regressive than they used to, and I had the exact same problems you did with this episode. Plus, Andy’s leaving the office now and Nellie’s really the manager? OK, sure, good luck figuring out where to go with that one.
This is a decent example, though there are so many more: http://videogum.com/364471/rick-santorum-fails-to-rest-his-case/top-stories/
oops, I posted about ‘when Gabe gets political’ above without finishing reading the thread. yes. also, if you think pop culture isn’t already political, you are… not quite correct.
oooh, and all Gwyneth Paltrow posts.
oh my god, yes, that post and all subsequent Nicholas Sparks posts. also, all WMOAT posts, Friday Fights and friendly chats with Gabe and Kelly, and posts where Gabe gets political (even a little bit).
Chang is by far the worst character/aspect of the show. Everything Ken Jeong does makes me want to bleach my eyes. I still have PTSD flashbacks to his bits in The Hangover.
ARE THEY ALL DRUNK OR IS IT JUST ME?
Kelly, 1987 was the best year to be born.
So I also had an exploding-brain moment over the 2 years thing. What bothers me the most about it is THE BOTTLE OF WINE. I don’t remember exactly when Bates saw Thomas take the bottle, but let’s say it was a few episodes ago, and LET’S SAY that means it was a year ago, if 6 episodes = 2 years. Thomas says to Carson, “Have you noticed any of the wine missing?” Does Carson only then realize that there’s been a bottle of wine missing for a year? How does he remember every single bottle of wine that far back? (The Crawleys certainly seem to knock them out at a decent rate.) Or did he notice it a year ago? In that case, doesn’t he think it’s weird that Thomas is making a thing of it this much later? EXPLAIN PLZ.
really?? I think he’s adorable.
So Bates has some big secret that prevents him from telling Anna he loves her, right? What do we think it is?? Is he married, like in Jane Eyre? (Classic British stuff.) Is he… I give up, that’s my only guess.
another good example (for me) is when Daisy is “unnecessarily bitchy about electricity.” Gets me every time!
P.S. Kelly, I am loving the TV Club! and watching one episode a week and getting excited about your recaps! everything’s great!
I saw the resemblance too, which is maybe why I DID see why all the ladies were swooning. So dreamy, until the rape-y bits! And then dead.
That was a weird abrupt plot twist.
I agree! This is what’s confusing me: why isn’t the announcement that EVERYONE is leaving the Office after this season? I don’t understand why they wouldn’t make a graceful exit with the departure of yet another lead character, *especially* if Mindy Kaling and Danny Chun are also done. IT IS DEFINITELY TIME.
This will bother me forever.
OMG, I’m late and maybe no one will read this, and also maybe I’m the only one, BUT: Since Ann went out with Tom (not Chris) and there was no discernible reason given for Chris cheering up, why did the music change?!?!?!
So THAT’S what the Braves organization is doing instead of making any smart offseason moves. Sigh. #Bravesgum
Snake Juice!
“that possibility” meaning that the SS was DeAngelo (D’angelo? Deangelo?). I agree it has to be SOMEONE, but it should have been him. Too perfect.
I got really excited about that possibility after you suggested it (even though I was all HUH?!?!) and now I am super pissed that that’s not how they wrote him off. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOLD. They should pay you to write for the Office!
Wait. What?? It is definitely not obvious to me. what makes you think that?
You guys, I just saw The Invention of Lying last night and it was terrible. I love Ricky Gervais, but I did not love that movie. But it had so much promise! But it was so bad!

Horrorscope is a great album!
