Find Me On:
“John Travolta is being sued in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles by a masseur, named only as John Doe, who accuses the star of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking $2 million in damages”
All torts. Unlawful, of course, but not crimes.
Dude, there’s a difference between torts and crimes. If he were being charged with a crime, the state of California would prosecute him. He’s being sued by another man for damages. This is a civil action. The tort of assault (in some states assault and battery) can include sexual assault.
I can’t sue another person for a crime, the state decides to prosecute. I can, however, sue them in a court of equity (civil court) for damages.
*Nothing he did was a crime
He’s not being charged with crimes by the state, he’s being sued in tort for damages. Nothing he did was “illegal,” it was just a civil wrong committed by Travolta against the masseurs, allegedly (he probably did it.)
Am I crazy or did Kenan used to say “What up wit that?” but now he says “What’s up wit that?”
How much did they pay Keith Olbermann to be in this commercial?
Six Starbucks mentions. I wonder how much they paid Gabe to insert that shit into this post. I wonder when banner ads for frappucinos will hit videogum/ stereogum?
