I love this.
In fairness, who wouldn’t?
Furthermore, this:
Mr. Burns [after going insane and dressing like Howard Hughes]: Now, to the Plant! We’ll take the Spruce Moose (Mr. Burns’ wooden model plane)! Hop In!
Mr. Smithers [reluctantly]: But Sir!
Mr. Burns: (pulls out pistol and cocks at Smithers) I said…HOP IN!
Homer: [at the dinner table, hallucinating that his entire family are circus clowns] That’s it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I’m going to clown college!
[leaves, drives away]
Bart: I don’t think any of us expected him to say that.
I really don’t want to overstate this, but that is probably the greatest thing that has ever happened in the world.
I wasn’t blown away by ‘Community,’ actually. Obviously pilot episodes are notoriously lame (see also: every single show mentioned in this post), but I felt like the writing on ‘Community’ was way too focused on introducing the KRAZIE personalities we’ll come to know and love this season. The full study group scenes seemed particularly lazy. That being said, we know how funny McHale is and I hope it hits its stride soon. Oh, also: more Chevy Chase and Jon Oliver please.
It’s an honest mistake, as they are 90% identical.
It really has become a caricature of what my worst fear was about this show. Admittedly, I am probably trying to nitpick every little speed bump Leno has in his first week, but the jokes at the expense of the guy you made cry to get high ratings the night before followed by a joke about dogfighting followed by a piss poor rip-off of Craig Kilborn’s 5 Questions followed by yet another knife in Conan O’Brien’s back would probably qualify as more than just a speed bump.

Either the First Amendment exists or it doesn’t. Period.
