I wonder if the movie couldn’t benefit a bit from not revealing that in the trailer. “It’s a mystery! Full of suspense! Buckle yourselves in, baby boys and girls! Aaaaaand Affleck is the robber from the first part of the movie.”
I remember when I was young, white and in the suburbs. I just idolized rappers soooo much. I mean, shooting people in the head while getting your dick sucked while snorting a line while flipping off a police officer while laying down a hit vocal track in the studio. I mean, what else should I have idolized? All that stuff is so great. And turns out, I did become a rapper when I grew up, so follow your dreams, kids!
PA made me finally order a tactical light for my sidearm. *shudders*
People hate on PA, but it’s such a successful film (monetarily and psychologically) because it could happen to any of us, or that, we indulge the thought for a bit. I couldn’t sleep at all the night I watched PA. The refrigerator clicks on and I’m thinking about demons here to mess my face up. And if that’s true, my loaded .45 1911 next to my bed won’t do shit. That’s scary. Movies with characters that terrorize other characters that can be shot and end the movie 10 minutes in? That shit’s not scary. (Signs, The Strangers, etc.) All those “scary” films are one bullet away from being a hilarious webisode. I give PA credit for doing something different.
Say what you will, but Paranormal Activity in theater with 3 of my guy friends was the maybe the first and last time I’ve legitimately had fun and been scared/excited to be at a movie. Also maybe the only time it was worth the ticket price I took out a loan for. Got a good interest rate though.
This statement from Don Thompson hardly warrants a “Fuck you.” There’s also nothing confusing about what he’s saying. It’s common knowledge that European culture/any other part of the world culture is different than American culture, and he’s making a choice that he doesn’t want to run the ad here. I’m completely sure there’s been scads of market research and it didn’t test well here — and if that’s the case, he’d be a horrible Operation Chief to let it run in an area he had control over. He comes right out and says that he doesn’t impose his beliefs on others, but he doesn’t want to run the ad. Saying “fuck you” to him is like a hippie saying “fuck you” to someone who got a job. Come on, man. When we’re making fun of obviously crazy people/things (ALVIN GREENE) then it’s funny, but this guy was just making what he thought was a smart business decision. To sum up? You mad.
Same. This site is eerily starting to remind me of the 3rd grade lunchroom. Oh, are you going to sit over there? Well I thought I’d sit here…
let’s battle for the remainder of state-mandated schooling.
I’m so glad another student of words enjoys this hidden piece of vernacular.
totally right. what a 6-year cock tease.
Well it can’t be all that ba–
wow. kill me.
Steve’s still right. Dedicated fans were still cheated out of a thoroughly thought out plotline. It became stabs in the dark to please demographics. Hey, that’s life, but some of us have higher standards for entertainment. You could say Transformers 2 is a blast because it’s high budget, has beautiful people and there’s never a lack of explosions. And if you want to leave it at that, fine. Doesn’t mean it was good. Same applies to LOST.
Dedicated fan of the show/Laughed a lot at the end there (at them, not with them)/Lost interest. Sigh. Headed back to The Wire, Weeds, etc. Over and out.
I think I’m gonna buy a bunch of shit from these guys.
fuck that guy. Norma Jean is great.
That’s all.
You LOVE those IP address checks. Marry me!
Really? I love this site and all. But you crazy.

Hartford, you took the baby words out of my baby mouth. Agree wholeheartedly. Boondocks was fun, and I’m a gun enthusiast who Open Carries and it was great to see Beretta’s and Magnum Researches and Walthers, etc. in a great and exciting way.
