did anyone else have issues enjoying a film in which you’re actively rooting against the human race and the american military? i mean, i liked this movie, but i found it difficult to really root for jake sully and the na’vi people when they were killing humans. just my two cents.

a lot has been said on this matter, so i’ll keep this (relatively) short. maybe this is a simple-minded way of viewing this, but i still think it’s interesting: if roman polanski was a catholic priest there’s no way any of these people would be signing a petition for his release. period. they should all be ashamed of themselves for publicly supporting him. actually, screw that, they should be ashamed of themselves for supporting him at all, publicly or not.

gabe i don’t think this has been touched on yet but i gotta tell you that you can’t anthropomorphize (big word, phew) a baby since babies are human and you can only anthropomorphize things that aren’t human. i can’t believe no one has pointed this out already, it’s such a huge, gaping error!

“Film-makers in France, in Europe, in the United States and around the world are dismayed by this decision,” says the petition

france AND europe?! we are so fucked, guys!

oh man, i feel so relieved. i was really worried gabe was going to hate gran torino, and gran torino was one of my favorite movies of last year! eastwood killed it. such a funny character. yeah, a lot of the acting was quite terrible, and it was not without its flaws, but i found it so fulfilling on so many levels. hooray gabe! now if you’ll excuse me, i’ve got to go protect my car from roving gangs. hurrm.
