‘can someone help me find my 7th horcrux?’

Why are we reading about this? A lot of people were involved before this got to my face and now I hate all of them. Especially THE POLICE, who sure spent a lot of time investigating this.

Taran is super underrated, esp when you consider that he’s been around a long time & he has live sketch experience from MadTV. I think they’re using him an appropriate amt for a new featured player, but I expect him to be one of the big SNL stars in a couple years.

I had such a crush on Kermit when I was a kid. That’s probably what makes me such an enthusiastic furry to this day.

She seemed really nervous; that took a lot of the majestic, other-wordly energy out of her performance.

What is WITH SNL & the gross family sketches? In the ’90s it was that family that chewed each other’s food, in the aughts we get the Vogelcheks. SNL is like the annoying kid in middle school who repeats the same joke, louder & louder, until he’s sure that EVERYONE in the room has heard it.

To be serious, though, this is the best season of SNL in years.

No, it’s a fair point. It seems like a trend, this cross-pollination of little-girly & sexy.

I blame Zooey Deschanel for this!

1 unit of Real Talk, thought: Dakota Fanning is a college student of legal age. You may have gotten to know her as a child & , while she may not have gone the Miley Cyrus route of asserting her adulthood REAL HARD, she’s still an adult. It’s kind of not her problem that you still for some reason think she’s a child even though you’re presumably familiar w/ the concept of the passage of time.

She’s greater than or equal to a lot of models, age-wise. Plenty of very sexy bikini models & underwear models. So, it’s fine? Also, is pretending you have a giant flower cock more sexualizing or more plain hilarious? Food for thought.

But Elle Fanning is a tiny child who shouldn’t be sexualized (although her ad… not really sexual. Maybe to some weirdo Riverside Park fetishists or something). I think people get confused b/c she’s tall.

Brett Butler thinks rehearsing is for Jews.

You’re old to me, but only b/c I love your work over at the Hairpin.

Aye Aye, captain. Here goes:
“How did Micheal Douglas get to be the inaugural guest on Alec Baldwin’s podcast?”

Oh, I disagree w/ you so much! Some people have connections w/in a single network/production co. Some people work on the same types of shows over & over. People who work repeatedly w/ children aren’t necessarily child pornographers (see: early childhood educators). Also I doubt there was much “extra footage” that was sexually explicit. Your logic for identifying pedophiles is faulty, please don’t apply it.

Only someone who can stomach unspeakable cruelty against children could watch Jon & Kate parent for that many years w/o quitting.

I just meant that the Invention of Lying was not a cute look for him & made him seem both tween girlishly navel-gazey AND overbearingly superior.

Ricky Gervais created one of the funniest TV shows ever.

However! Evidence that he’s an asshole: the Ricky Gervais Podcast. Evidence that he is a solipsistic pedant of the highest order: The Invention of Lying. The clues were there all along!

It was the perfect opportunity for SNL to do a Degrassi parody (my #1 wish in this life).

Kelly, 2 things:
1) it’s spelled “Anna Faris”
2) I still really want to be best friends w/ you & nothing can change that

Also, no TV show is ever gonna stand up to the glory of the TAL show for Showtime. Am I right or am I right?

+3Posted on Sep 28th, 2011 | re: Here Are Some Afternoon Links! (23 comments)

Yay Parenthood! It’s the TV show I both relate to the most & the least.
Also I have a conditioned response to cry anytime Lauren Graham & her daughter are onscreen at the same time.

+3Posted on Sep 28th, 2011 | re: Fox Bought A Comedy Based On A This American Life Segment (17 comments)

Can we talk about TAL for a second? I, too, listened to a lot of their back catalog. Once I got thru most of it & started to only listen to more recent episodes, I noticed a marked decline in quality over time. (I’m sorry!) Also, in that WTF interview, Ira Glass sounded totally over it. I am registering my concern.

My favorite advice of hers is ‘straighten your hair b/c men don’t like curly hair’. Which doubles as implicit waxing advice.

It bothers me how rarely people talk about Friends anymore. It literally taught me everything I know & really prepared me to face people’s “commitment issues” which, as a kid, I def did not believe was a thing.

Ugh I’m wrong; it’s “MISS Chanandler Bong”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejRk40vHdhE

Also “Courteney”: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001073/

If memory serves, it was “Ms.” And my memory is basically a database of Friends quotes, so my accuracy on this issue is tied up indistinguishably with my self-worth. And it is “Courteney Cox”. Confirmation tk.
