I love (hate) how they describe 9/11 as “one of the worst tragedies in the history of humanity”, as if being so sensitive and hyperbolic is going to let them off the hook for what comes next.

I didn’t read this book as a child, so I feel like I’m missing out on the intense emotional journey everyone else is having. I guess I’m going to have to stick to being really sad about John Hughes.
