I’m as tired of the fake-rap-by-white-folks genre as anyone, but you’re gravely mistaken about this one. It is solid gold. Look how many GG references they packed into just five minutes! They even throw in some Dante and Shakespeare! The lyrics aren’t just “well-written,” they’re goddamn clever. Really, they don’t deserve your (usually well-directed) hate.
I love TWMoAT so much that I actually get kind of excited when I’m forced to watch crappy in-flight movies. Formerly, I would have grumbled; now, I just think, “I wonder if this movie would be a good candidate for TWMoAT” — and more often than not, it is! Case in point: I just saw “Nights in Rodanthe,” which I heartily nominate for the next round.
Otherwise … Gabe and Lindsay, you’re perfect. Don’t ever change. (Lindsay, pay no attention to the cat-haters. Cats rule. Dogs drool, are smelly, don’t clean up their own poo, etc.)
Paul Rudd + Andy Samberg = CRAZY DELICIOUS.
