Honestly, I am far too old to be as excited about this as I am. These hips can’t take it! I took a Werther’s Original to try and help calm me down but it didn’t even do anything. (Via TheDailyWhat.)

  1. I seriously can’t wait until tomorrow night!

  2. Has John Locke always reminded me of Jigsaw from the Saw “franchise”?

  3. “These hips can’t take it anymore.”
I initially read that as “these hips can’t lie anymore.” May I suggest more Shakira references to make me feel a little less confused?

  4. This is the best article title I’ve ever read. (But bear in mind I exclusively read The Rush Limbaugh Gazette)

  5. Looks like they didn’t have time to work on the CGI smokemonster during the break.

    • I know, the fucking smoke monster has always disappointed me so much. but if a larger smoke monster budget may mean less insanely beautiful actors, I’m so not on board.

      • There was one episode in season four where the smoke monster looked fucking rad as shit, I mentioned it on Twitter because I was so excited (I only mention things that excite me on Twitter) (what I had for lunch today was so exciting)

  6. Guys, I’m excited for Last Restaurant Standing on BBC America tomorrow night too!

  7. I watched last season’s finale last night as a reminder. Tonight I will probably do some stretches or try to go to bed early or do a crossword puzzle or something, you know to LIMBER UP.

  8. LOST SPOILER SEASON SIX

  9. All my brain can even reasonably create right now re: that video is FUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKK.

  10. Monsters, i need advice. LOST advice. i watched a lot of season 4 and season 5, but i haven’t seen any of 1, 2, or 3. do you think i should just jump in now and watch the end? or do you think i should wait and watch all the episodes in sequence? (i’m afraid if i wait things might get ruined for me.)

    • Might as well watch the end now and then see the entire series after it’s over.

    • You have approximately 30 hours. Start watching s1-3 at a slightly faster speed than normal and you should be good.

    • You have more than 24 hours. Start now. Lock yourself in your home and watch as many episodes as you can. If you order delivery and pee in a jug, you should be able to… Wait, how many episodes per season? There was that one short season, courtesy of the writers’ strike. But at, what, 38 minutes per episode… Nevermind. You’ll never make it.

Eh. Watch the new season anyway. Otherwise you’ll have to avoid Gabe’s recaps, and you’ll never be able to do that.

    • I’m in a similar conundrum ($10 word!). I really want to get into Lost–I feel like it’s a show I would really like–but I haven’t watched any of the episodes. Ever. Is it worth watching this last season now, or should I wait until it’s over and just start from Season 1?

      • i think you can’t just start on this season because you’ll have no idea what’s going on, and none of the exciting reveals will mean anything to you. i at least will get some things. hopefully.

      • PLEASE PLEASE do not watch the last season without watching the first 5! You would miss out on everything that makes this show so great and won’t appreciate the final season nearly as much…we are all geeky for this for a reason and that reason is that this show has been amazing season in and season out. I just think you’d be shortchanging yourself if you get all the answers to the mysteries of the show without knowing what the questions were.

        • Exactly. It would be just like “42″. Right? Right??
          (too obscure?)

        • You have to admit, Season 3 did kind of suck.

          • I will say that season 3 took some endurance for me because I had seen episodes here and there when it aired, so when I watched LOST from the start of season one–marathon-style–season 3 was a little ‘less exciting’ in comparison to 1 and 2 and definitely less exciting than 4 and 5. I wouldn’t say it sucked though because it was an important season for character development; it just lacked the “crazy shit on the island” development (I would’ve enjoyed a flashback episode for the smoke monster–see the monster behind the CGI mask, ya know?).

Anyway, I’ll upvote you just to get you out of the negatives, but mentioning LOST and describing any part of it with “sucks” won’t get you much praise (duh).

          • I meant sucks merely in LOST comparison terms. I would say “Sucks” in LOST terms means Season 1,2,4,5 > Season 3. Whereas, in real life Season 3 of LOST >>>>>>> any season of Grey’s Anatomy or Entourage. I’m sorry if I was too vague.

          • Season 3 gave us classic LOST episodes like “Through the Looking Glass” and “The Man Behind the Curtain”, so it’s not all bad.

    • I have had three friends all start Lost in the past few weeks and absolutely blow through the first five seasons. Since every single episode is available online and there’s very few episodes that make you say “eh I can take a break now,” they were finishing seasons in record time. I suspect you could do the same!

And if you’re going to watch Lost at all you should start now, because the day after the series finale there is going to be no escape from hearing how it ends. What’s the fun in watching Lost when you don’t get to play the “What is the Island?” game, even if you have to do it in extreme fast forward?

    • Really, you should have been planning ahead. the first three seasons come to 72 hours. if you start now you’ll be able to watch the new show online by Thursday. You don’t need to work/eat/interact with people right? I mean this is LOST we are talking about….

granted, i haven’t seen the first season since it aired…BUT i did watch each episode three times at least. (THANK YOU INTERNETS)

Anyway, i’d be happy to sum up/spoil the first three seasons for you: OMG! A PLANE CRASH! OH! the guy from Felicity! …ok a polar bear? A SMOKE MONSTER? Ugh whose that blonde bitch? I hope they don’t make us grow emotionally attached and then brutally kill her (LOL SO MANY LEVELS!). Oh. That’s what Kate did? meh. The guys are all handsome enough…i guess. WHY WON”T THEY GIVE US ANY ANSWERS?! I hate you lost! I HATE HOW YOU’VE TAKEN OVER MY LIFE!! *sob* *sob sob*

    • I’d say go for it considering all the episodes are free online and the show is endlessly addicting. But I should give you some warnings first. First off, characters on Lost ask a lot of questions and a lot of what happens on Lost begs for questions to be asked. You should probably know ahead of time that 80% of these questions served no purpose and, unless each episode of the final season is four hours ago and written like an encyclopedia, won’t have answers. In fact, it’s safe to assume that nothing on Lost actually has an explanation, so that when a handful of questions actually start to have answers around episode #100, it will be actually be exciting for you!

The second thing you should know is that Lost has a sadistic habit of killing off its most interesting characters and leaving its worst ones. So if a character actually has a personality and an interesting backstory, I wouldn’t get too attached. On the other hand, if a character causes you to ask yourself, “If the entire purpose of this character is to essentially be a human trophy for the other 2 characters, why did they make her so annoying and unlikeable?” then it’s safe to assume that not only won’t the writers kill her off, but they will actually kill other far more interesting and likable characters off just to give her more screen time.

Especially when these characters claim to know a lot about the island, but conveniently refuse to talk about it unless it’s to ask a vague question that always happens to happen 10 seconds before a commercial break and is immediately followed by ominous music, and then have a complete 180 turnaround in their personality to make their death easier for the audience to take, and then, again, conveniently die before answering anything about anything. Yes I’m still bitter! Fuck you Lost!

No, but it’s a great show. I love it. Enjoy!

      • I love your quiet rage that builds into crazy rage (you think K-a-t-e should have d-i-e-d?) ….I think the tagline for this season is: LOST: prepare to be disappointed
…but we hope you had fun!

        they did…shooting in hawaii, surfing …drunk driving…

Also *spoiler alertz* turns out it’s all about the journey.

      • I definitely quoted you on ontd_lost and my tumblr. This is such an awesome description.

      • can i give you a hug?

  11. I “limbered up” this weekend by watching Season 5 as reflected in a mirror, and playing in reverse.

  15. “The time for questions is over”, AS IF, Mr. Announcer, AS IF.

  16. I have never seen an episode of Lost. Should I start with this new, fresh season?

    • If you’ve been looking for a way to say to your brain, “YA BURNT!”, then yes.

    • I only watch ads for Lost and then offer up theories to my friends who do watch Lost about what is going on. They cry. I suspect my theories might be as good as their theories. In any case, I intend to carry on with my theories until the entire body of Lost is available to watch in one sitting. Why start watching now when I can still torture my friends?

  17. (Spoiler Alert)

  18. This anticipation is killing me! Is Locke really dead? Will Jack be able to find the remaining Horocruxes? Is Jack a Horocrux???!?!?11!! I can’t take it!!

  19. Okay, I know Sayid did some pretty terrible things during his time with the Iraqi army and all, but still…….watching him plead in agony with a hot poker about to scald his skin is just too much sadness to look forward to!!!

  20. Two monsters talk on G-Chat:

me: I’m looking for the appropriate FUUUCK gif
    stevie: there is none
its a whole new level of FUUUUUCK

  21. I am saving my excitement for this until after tonight’s premiere of Kell on Earth. I only have so much anticipation to go around, people!

  22. Smoke Monsters’ Ball

  23. I’ve never been more excited for anything ever since forever!

  24. Okay, let me just vent to you monsters. I have to attend a class that meets once a month from 7-9pm THIS TUESDAY. Ed Policy 315 is run by some sick, sick bastards. Sure hulu is a thing that exists, but IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME. I deserve to have my mind blown along with the rest of the you…

  25. I will be meditating over my seasons 1-5 DVDs all day tomorrow to prepare.

  26. SPOILER: Kate gets eaten by a polar bear.

Just joking but we all know you wish I were not.

    Can’t wait.

  27. I’m recently unemployed and looking for a productive way to spend my time. Would it be possible for me to get caught up on Lost somehow and then become obsessed about it and constantly post in forums or something? Cause, I’m talking really unemployed here. And I only watched the 1st season. Possible?

    • So so possible. And based on the fact that you posted this at 5 in the morning, I would guess that you could free up a little time in your sleepless schedule.

  28. Given that today is Groundhog Day, how many times do you think you would have to relive tonight’s episode to entirely understand it?
