I think this was probably set up for the camera. If I was her, Id be attacking those “will” coins right away, and wouldnt even notice til I got to the thing that looked like a question mark.

My marriage proposal using Super Mario World looked just like that, except I made it so the walls of the underground would close in from both sides, and there was no exit, and Mario had no choice but to die after getting all of the coins.
