sometimes, i think the lawnmower man e-hates this i-place and is trying to relegate it to a monthly newsletter, ink and paper affair.
we have to snail-mail it along, commenter to commenter. we each scribble our comment in the margins. then, as it gets passed along, pluses and minuses accumulate next to the comments. this process happens a few times so people can comment on comments and vote on the new comments, etc…. then eventually gabe gets it back and tallies the votes. we would get one monster’s ball every 2 years. MAKE IT COUNT PEOPLE!

I like the idea, until the day that the previous commenter turns out to be a psychotic troll who now knows my home address. “And I’ll stop by next week to give you some downvotes.”
On the upside, a youtube link could be a really cool flipbook.
For me the “Sign In” section that’s normally in-between the Videogum logo and the search thingy has been missing for over a week. Would this have something to do with my browser (Internet Explorer)? If so, it works for every other website I go to so I can’t bring my self to change browsers for one website. Also, the clearing cache and cookies didn’t work.
If you’re still using IE, you should change your browse because it sucks, not just to use this site.
I’m w/ FlyAway on this one. At home I use Chrome and VG works fine. But my work runs thru IE 7 and Cookie Monster clearing didn’t work. So, I guess I’ll have to resign myself to the life of the Unregistered.
It didn’t work in that there is still no sign in link at the top?
What about where you enter your comment on the post … can’t you log in there?
Whatever, Scott. I hate you!
We’re aware of the missing login link but clearing you cookies & cache should fix that. In Firefox, go to Tools > Clear Recent History, or (if you want to delete on your Videogum cookies/cache) go to Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Remove Individual Cookies.
IE, Safari, Chrome should be somewhat similar for the cookie deletion process.
So annoying I know! Sorry monsters.
If that doesn’t fix the problem, please e-mail the tips line.
(Separate problem is that Videogum sometimes does not sustain login, so every few days you days you have to log in again. That is wrong! So e-mail if you’re experiencing that too.)
Um, well….Stereogum works now. But still no sign in option for Videogum.
I’m with the IE users that still can’t login. My only concern is that the only people voting now are Mac users, and nerds. Most of my upvotes are typically from moms using Dells they bought on corporate discount.
Also, thanks for tricking me into deleting all my cookies, you jerk. I was saving those for my birthday. (this is an example of a joke my mom/lots of moms would enjoy, but nerds will think is stupid.)
I was going to downvote you for implying I am a mac user or a nerd because I use firefox, but then I remembered that this computer actually is a mac. (It’s my work computer. I’m still in denial.)
The real irony is that my mom is a nerd, and her name is Mack, and I just asked and she said that my cookies joke was really not that funny. So, I’m probably completely wrong.
I don’t believe you. THERE is no little “sign in” do-hickey on any of the pages!!! Someone screwed up and now I’m shit-kicking mad!
I’m not shit-kicking mad, just disappointed.
I think it worked!
Hooray! I can downvote people now!
