HBO has optioned Jeffrey Eugenides Middlesex for a show. That could be really good! Although, a mini-series seems more appropriate for the source material. I’m just worried that if you drag it out too long you’ll lose the thread of searching for identity against a backdrop of national upheaval, and six seasons in, hermaphrodite Turtle will still be arguing with hermaphrodite Johnny Drama about hermaphrodite omelets, or hermaphrodite whatever.
