HBO has optioned Jeffrey Eugenides Middlesex for a show. That could be really good! Although, a mini-series seems more appropriate for the source material. I’m just worried that if you drag it out too long you’ll lose the thread of searching for identity against a backdrop of national upheaval, and six seasons in, hermaphrodite Turtle will still be arguing with hermaphrodite Johnny Drama about hermaphrodite omelets, or hermaphrodite whatever.

Cannot wait. The book was amazing! Curious about how they’re gonna cast this, though. And yes, agree that a mini series might be the better route, but will be watching anyway. Isn’t Rita Wilson exec. producing?
I sort of hated the ending, so if they never get to it that would be cool.
