Barack Obama’s nominee to the United States Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor, fractured her ankle at LaGuardia Airport in New York today on her way to Washington DC to meet with the Senate. Oh no! Please be more careful Ms. Sotomayor! There will be just as much Cinnabon if you walk as if you run! Obviously, Rush Limbaugh, a man who knows a thing or two about Cinnabon (he’s fat), has already weighed in on the situation.

Haha, what? According to Think Progress, they believe that this was a “joke” in reference to a statement Judge Sotomayor made in a speech in 2001. Sure. I mean, it’s a “joke” insofar as something painfully unfunny and incredibly confusing is a joke, and it’s a “reference” insofar as something that you have to research, misinterpret, and then use out of context in a way that makes absolutely no sense is a reference.

At this point I think even Rush Limbaugh is mostly confused by everything that leaves his mouth, unless it’s cigar smoke or ham-flecked spittle.

  1. at what point is Limbaugh just being willfully ignorant and spewing brutal, but knowing, misinformation of all things liberal????

i feel like i’m the one missing the joke because he can’t be serious.

  2. He could have at least started the piece with, “Breaking news”

  3. Cue the rim shot…I mean, that’s what you do when people make SUPER funny “jokes” like that, right? He’s going to be at Bonnaroo, right?

Yeah, this is his idea of a joke, proving once again that he has an incredibly tasteful sense of humor. This is almost as funny as “Barack the Magic Negro”, right? I mean co-opting a racist literary cliche and spinning it into your own brand of racism is HILARIOUS, right?

Limbaugh is a pimple on the nutsack of our national dialogue, and must be popped immediately. The man has millions of followers who would gladly suffocate their children in their sleep before putting a shotgun in their mouth if he told them it would disrupt the liberal agenda. We can laugh at his drug-addiction, his weight problem, or his unabashedly misogynistic and racist bloviating all we want, but he is now the voice of nearly half of this country. That’s pretty fucking far from funny.

  5. Oh, SNAP!

That comment of Judge Sotomayor’s — and the right-wing EXPLOSION!! over it — has been all over the news for the last few weeks. Like CNN and the Washington Post and the NY Times. And every blog on politics ever. And even buzzfeed yesterday.

So, it’s not that he found an obscure reference and made a “joke” about it. He took something that has been beat to death by the media for the past month and made a “joke” about it. You are giving him too much reading-stuff-and-keeping-up-with-things credit if you think he discovered that line while doing research in his grand library.

    • thank you – i didn’t want to type all that out. this is not confusing at all. it’s not confusing that it refers to her previous statement about white males, and it is not confusing that it is not funny at all.

rush limbaugh can fondle my balls.

  7. I try not to wish pain on others, but I really hope Rush Limbaugh gets raped by a bear.

  8. Wait! Are you saying he’s been serious up till now?

  9. “At this point I think even Rush Limbaugh is mostly confused by everything that leaves his mouth, unless it’s cigar smoke or ham-flecked spittle.” …or cock. So much cock.

  10. Why is he still on the radio?

    • That One  |   Posted on Jun 9th, 2009 0

He’s on the radio because a scary shiit ton of people listen to him, and take what he says as gospel. Literally. I’m not sure of stats, but he has millions of followers – and sadly, my parents are among them. Yeah, they think he’s “funny” and “makes some good points”. Sigh… I was living at home for a bit during the ’04 election, and I couldn’t begin to tell you the rage I felt. Now and again, I listen to Limbaugh. If you can block out the fact that he has millions of disciples, it’s great entertainment. It’s like Stephen Colbert, except much more angry and all kinds of crazy. And you know, not satire.

  11. No. Just no.

It actually IS funny cause you guys are getting all bent out of shape about it!

  13. I’d be interested in hearing this in context.
