Usually when Bill O’Reilly sends his goon out to “ambush” someone, that person doesn’t completely turn the situation around into an opportunity to quickly and succinctly get his or her own reasonable point of view across (along with a zing), but that’s what Janeane Garofalo did last night . This almost makes me forget Janeane’s rough “not totally dismissing Scientology” period:

This is the first time I have watched a full minute of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named’s show in about six years; glad to know it hasn’t changed (ie: sad to know it’s still being aired).
Just seeing his face and hearing his voice, even for five seconds, makes me want to at the very least punch him in the face. This was a good clip, but it is depressing to think of how many people watch him and love him…it seems like he will never go away.

No, according to her logic, conservatives should have been protesting the outrageous spending of their own party for the last eight years if they were going to complaing about the spending of the new democratic majority to make up for the war deficit, and economic collapse.
And in all fairness, some if not most of those protesters probably did protest Bush’s outrageous war spending. There was plenty of criticism from conservatives. But that isn’t to say that all of the protesters were displeased then. Just saying you can’t uniformly decide that there opinions aren’t consistent. But what am I saying, this is the internet, Bush bad Obama good.
In all fairness it is an amazing stretch to say SOME IF NOT MOST of these people protested Bush’s spending. They were not protesting because we were spending money to save our [God's] country from heathen brown people with imaginary nuclear weapons. That’s the kind of spending red-blooded, square-jawed, Jesus-humping American can stand behind.

I think what is perhaps the most disturbing thing about BOR referencing her looks is that it infers that Janeane actually cares the MOST about being attractive and not as much about being heard and understood on her political views. I’m surprised that Bill even aired that clip. It’s not like he had to air it. He could have looked at it and went: “Huh..that’s an actually pretty decent argument. Wait, the interviewer is avoiding the justification of her statements making his question irrelevant. Hey, Rupert, I don’t think we should air this”.
Instead, he saw it and thought “Wow that woman is atrociously ugly. Let’s put that on air and show everyone how ugly she is. INSIDE AND OUT. Right guys?”
