There’s a first green band trailer for September 4th’s long-awaited new Mike Judge (Office Space, Idiocracy) movie, Extract, starring Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Mila Kunis, J.K. Simmons, and Ben Affleck:

Yay! It looks good! And I’ll say this carefully: nobody loves Judd Apatow movies more than I do, but I’m looking forward to seeing a smart comedy that’s a full degree away from his comedy-dominating team. It’s been, like, years! (Also in this category: The Hangover.)

  1. I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait

    Looks good.

  2. I agree about the Apatow thing, but I’d consider Wain an equal on the comedy domination. Clearly he’s not been as prolific as Apatow, but that means he hasn’t had the bombs that Apatow has had (Kicking and Screaming, Drillbit Taylor).

I’m not trying to stir things up again, but while Role Models was really great, The Ten was not. Wain’s a close 2nd in my book, but needs to role out more & better flicks.

      • I personally liked the 10, but I know a lot of people didn’t.
Seen Wainy Days? I think it bumps him up a HUGE amount from other comedy directors.

  3. Is the factory worker the Sparkle Motion mom?

  4. And Clifton Collins Jr. Awesome. I’m in.

  5. Looks like it might be pretty good. But the use of “Free Ride” just makes me think of Dazed and Confused, and that makes me sad cause this won’t be as good. Still, totally will check it out.

  6. Looks, great, but even though they’re not involved in producing or distributing it, I’m sure 20th Century Fox will find some way to fuck this movie over (ie Office Space/Idiocracy)

Can we just have a movie consisting of one shot of Mila Kunis in slow motion? Please?
