New Eminem video for “We Made You,” you guys:

A few targets I’m surprised he missed:

Richard Nixon
Pet Rocks
Womens’ Lib
Star Wars
Sonny Bono
Clan of the Cave Bear
Iran Contra Affair
Betty Page

Seriously, Eminem? I know that you’re the “thinking man’s Weird Al Yankovic” or whatever, but next time that you take a four/five year hiatus, when you’re planning your big comeback moment that’s going to redefine the next stage in your career, try to make it NOT a Wayans Brothers movie from 2002.

  1. K Fed is fat now, Eminem.

  2. Man, that was rough.

  3. the only redeeming piece of this is the self deprecating 3:06. Other than that….

  4. When I was watching this and not understanding my first thought was “Well, I guess I really am white.” but…..he’s white too…so maybe he doesn’t understand what he’s doing either.

  5. As much as I am happy to see anyone dissing Brett Michaels and his European Hair Extensions, that song was just bad. Not catchy at all.

Sounds like he’s just parodying himself now.

is that Bobby Lee in the video? Makes sense, this plays like a rejected MadTV sketch

  8. Friends, this is certainly a nominee for TWMVOAT.

whats up with all the lesbian jabs? i can tolerate one, because i have a sense of humor. but two is weak. and they weren’t even good jabs.

  10. Fake vomit more than once in a music video? Interesting…

  11. Let’s get this on TRL, NOW!

  12. i can’t click because i’m in class, but is that lisa ann?

    i sure hope so

Did you miss the little caption for “Planet of Womyn”? I think he got a shot at women’s lib in there.

  16. Poor Eminem is over the hill.

This sort of video worked really well in 2000 as “Real Slim Shady”, in 2002 as “Without Me”, and 2004 as “Just Lose It”. However, in a post-Lil Wayne/ Kanye West rap world, this is some out dated shit. This is the end of Eminem as we know it.

  19. Personally, I thought him shredding Kim Kardashian into money was a nice touch.

  20. his schtick is as old as his references. and the beats aren’t dope, their dopey. no sir, i didn’t like it.

4+ minutes of my life just wasted.

  22. BLT  |   Posted on Apr 7th, 2009 +12

    Holy fuck that’s awful.

  23. Now, that’s just bad rap. Apparently during his hiatus he Tivoed everything on E and Style.

  24. Rain Man? Really? I can’t wait for his “Dancing With the Stars” parody.

    • Magnus390  |   Posted on Apr 8th, 2009 +4

Is it just me, or does Rain Man Eminem look a little bit like Paul Reubens?

Maybe it’s just the grey Pee Wee suit talking.

  25. He got all his Star Treks confused. ugh.

  26. If you asked your dad to parody Eminem this is the video he’d come up with.

  27. BHay  |   Posted on Apr 7th, 2009 +18

“Dancing with the Stars” parody? If Em’s only just now getting to a “Rainman” joke, we still have to wait for his “Dances with Wolves” parody.

  28. that is lisa ann, and the video and song are both awful. he should have just called it EMINEM SONG and given those idiots who do date movie and all that producer credits.

  29. yomomma  |   Posted on Apr 7th, 2009 +13

So Em’s taking on Pink’s rejected songs now?

  30. At first I thought that the pink shirt was a jab at Conor Oberst on the Outer South cover.
Because that would obviously fit in with all of the fat Jessica Simpson and Star Trek jokes. Duh.

  31. how can we be sure this isn’t FAKE RAP???
it bares all the tell-tale signs.

  32. livej  |   Posted on Apr 7th, 2009 +7

The verses TOTALLY sounded like a Flight of the Conchords fake rap. Brett may even sound better!

  33. koo koo ca choo  |   Posted on Apr 7th, 2009 +16

well, elemantary schools across america will be totally psyched for this album.

  34. Do Seltzer and Friedberg produce music videos now?

  35. Mandy  |   Posted on Apr 7th, 2009 +18

I like how he’s making fun of jessica simpson’s weight gain as if he wasn’t fat 2 months ago, pre-coke binge diet, or whatever celebrities/depressed people do to lose weight.

  36. Glad to see Eminem’s increased maturity finally coming through in his work.

  37. one can only hope!

  38. genius…(?)

  39. Was that the aqua teen robot.

  40. Someone else touched on this in an earlier post, and I agree. His last three albums have all had a god awful single that was a lame attempt at pop culture critique, but the other songs on those albums were pretty good. Yes, this is terrible, but I’ll put off the judgement that Eminem is “over” until I hear the entire album. Wait, is putting off Judgement allowed on this site? Shit…

  41. Seeing Lisa Ann reprise her Palin role made me laugh in an otherwise dull video. Is it just me or did his voice / rapping style get even more ridiculous?

I actually liked Jezebel’s review of this video a little more.

    • equalitystreet  |   Posted on Apr 9th, 2009 +4

I read that too, but I thought the review was too willing to dismiss the sexism and homophobia as just two of many things Eminem takes the piss out of… and besides, it’s okay! He takes the piss out of himself also! (“C’mon, you guys – you know Eminem’s just foolin’.)

      Terrible song, worse video.

  44. I enjoyed Eminem’s music but some times like the song above reminds me of fart jokes. As you you get older they become old and redundant.

I hope his new album is not full of fat jokes.

  45. omg THANK YOU. i’ve been saying he’s hip weird al for so long. like, at least 2 weeks.

  46. I guess he just wants to make up for all the things he missed in the past few years.

  47. I will admit, I’m totally lame, and the references didn’t bother me, but beat-wise the song is just not catchy enough to be a hit single.

I couldn’t care less about the occasionally outdated references. The sin of the song is that it’s just not catchy… at all.

  51. People are sending eachother 2 Girls 1 Cup and Eminem thinks Bobby Lee vomiting at his farts is funny and edgy?
I don’t care if you grow up or get with the times, just stop making shitty music videos.

How was this lame batshit considered better than the hip hop greats of current day such as JayZ and OutKast? With all the women he keeps begging to hook up with him it makes me think he’s the new Fred Durst you know rapping about women out of his league (yes even Amy Winehouse). I agree with whoever said he can’t talk about anyone being fat when he wasn’t so thin not too long ago and was arrested for acting a fool too.

  54. Oodoodanoo  |   Posted on Apr 9th, 2009 0

I guess I don’t watch enough TV to care about all the parodies. The song sucked otherwise.

David Lee Roth tried this, too, in “Just a Gigolo”. Where is he now, anyway?

  55. It’s like his mouth and the beat are fighting, and his mouth lost. It lost baaad.

  56. I am thinking that his ex-wife must have gotten Eminems testicles in the second divorce because his voice sounds extra high pitched.

  57. charles  |   Posted on Apr 10th, 2009 0

eminem has become the sarah palin of rap

  58. matt(hew)  |   Posted on Apr 11th, 2009 0

Eminem recycling premises as usual… this time with some added misogyny! Or at least more misogyny than usual?

  59. joker222798  |   Posted on Apr 11th, 2009 +2

like everyone said before. he always puts out a juvenile first single off his new albums. but then every track after that is usually fire. he would not have won grammy’s and been voted 2008′s Vibe Magazine Best Rapper Alive if he produced and made shit songs. plus the references are outdated a little bit but i still think its funny that he still has a sense of humor and would put a track like this on his cd. also dont forget about the relapse 2 that he is supposed to drop later in the year. if you dont like this song then im surprised you have listened to him long enough to realize that he always comes out with a track like this before he releases the good track.

  60. Am I the only one that caught the “if you think this is bad, wait till you hear the album”? Maybe I got lost in the context…

I can have a laugh at all the parody joke, but he’s done this to death. Every year there’s a movie parody in theaters. The old-timer jokes with the current ones didn’t come together.

Agreed it’s underwhelming for a comeback video, and well, not funny!

  61. is Eminem always this bad?

  62. Disclaimer: I only watched half the video, because my time is valuable and I’m going to go ahead and document this as an hour. You’ll receive my bill in the mail. But anyway…

The video was pretty much what I would expect from Eminem, which is to say: Meh. But as for the single… I didn’t hate it. Which surprises me.
