Ugh, the teaser trailer for the remake of Fame has come out. September might be annoying:
All of the motivations behind the making of this movie can be easily summed up in its official website url: “Generationfame.com.” And we thought OUR high schools were full of assholes. (The shot of the cellist makes me laugh though: go forth, fame-seeking cellist at the New York High School For Performing Arts! Don’t let fame ruin your spirit!)

Remember when people had original concepts for films and musicals? Yeah, that was awesome.
Not to say a good remake isn’t good. But Fame was a musical, then a movie, then a musical again, then a tv show, then a musical again, and now a movie again. I like the original movie a lot (the same way I like Center State and Camp and every other kicky art school movie) but nope…not going to see this. Just like I didn’t see them ruin John Water’s Hairspray by high-school-musical-ing it up.

Hey, don’t be down on this movie. My old high school is doing Fame for their musical and I’ll be dragged, and I hate to say it, but THAT will probably be even more The Worst.
