Some dude is suing Adam Sandler for copyright infringement. The term “intellectual property” seems a bit grandiose. From OneIndia:

London (ANI): Adam Sandler has been slapped with a copyright infringement suit by a comic book writer, who claims the actor stole his idea for the film You Don’t Mess With The Zohan. Writer Robert Cabell turned to the Manhattan Federal court and filed legal papers against the Reign Over Me star and chiefs at Happy Madison Productions, Sony and Columbia Pictures in New York.

Cabell alleged that Sandler’s character Zohan, an Israeli hero who fakes his own death in order to pursue his dream of becoming a hairstylist in New York City, was lifted from his Hair-Raising Adventures of Jayms Blonde.

Someone should tell that dude to drop his lawsuit. It’s embarrassing. The only thing worse than being the guy who created You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is being the guy who created the idea that wasn’t quite good enough to be You Don’t Mess with the Zohan and had to be rewritten.

WAIT A SECOND, Zohan made 100 million dollars? I should fucking sue that movie. For aggravated assault. ON MY EYES! (I’ve already hired a lawyer to defend me against the countersuits from that terrible joke, so better luck next time, counselor. You can’t handle the truth. I rest my case.)

Hey, guys, I think we’ve got another nominee for WMoAT.

I wonder if Gabe or Lindsay has even seen this movie. It’s not terrible. Robert Smigel don’t make no trash. Just because Sandler has made terrible, terrible movies from 1997 to 2007 doesn’t mean Zohan should be lumped in. That’s some narrow-minded, Amelie Gillette style shit. “HATES JEWS: YES” That’s good stuff. Give the movie a chance. And watch CURRENT TV. PEACE!

  3. though sebastian paper said some gibberishy stuff, i have to agree with the kernel of his comment: that movie was pretty funny. totally some dumb, over the top stuff (enough with the hummus jokes) but it wasn’t terrible, like the love guru.

    • I agree. The kids I nanny for dragged me to see it and although I’ve disliked the majority of Adam Sandler’s movies from the 00′s, I did find myself laughing at some of its absurd jokes.

  4. not only was it kind of funny, but also had some interesting things to say about Israeli/Palestinian relations.

Yeah, that guy will be real embarrassed when he gets a chunk of the $100 million Zohan made. For $100 million I’d put my face in the soup and blow.

  6. I would like to agree.. this movie really isn’t that awful. granted, it’s not something I would watch with my friends.. instead I watched it with my mother.
