Cam’ron traces the glorious history of hip hop’s most notorious homophobic word game.

(via RealTalkNY)

Perfect. Cam’ron is not going to take credit for originating this. The phrase is 20 years old, you guys. I mean, obviously he’s super proud of the hard work he’s done in getting “no homo” out there, but standing on the shoulders of Amistad and stuff. He couldn’t have done it alone.

Three- and four-year-olds think that Lil Wayne invented it. They’re like “Lil Wayne invented it, naptime.” Because adults are always asking three and four-year-olds who they think invented “no homo.” It’s adults’ favorite question to ask three- and four-year-olds. But more importantly, INFANTS? Infants are using “no homo”? Yikes. Kids grow up too fast these days. I remember a time when being a kid just meant playing with balls and putting random stuff in your mouth.

That’s what she said.

  1. three and four year olds think Michael Scott invented “that’s what she said.” any of the older gods could tell you it was Wayne Campbell.

  2. good thing he cleared this up because i was JUST ABOUT to do an anthropology-level exploration of the etymology of the phrase. cam’ron, you’re a hero. thanks for being the voice of the voiceless and shit.

  3. I think the problem with rappers is they are not having enough fun at dinner.

  4. Cam’ron misheard someone when they said, “You’ll go down in history as the originator of ‘no homo.’”

    Cam’ron ain’t goin’ down on His’try. He likes w’men.

  5. Cam’ron didn’t originate “down low”. He just took it and crossed it over. But he can use it all he want.

  6. I respect him for “crossing-over” a much simpler way of saying ‘I have so many insecurities in my own sexuality and personal turmoil, and I promise promise promise I don’t want that guy’s dick in my ass. that’s it you guys”
so much easier to just say “no homo”
    fuck I hate people sometimes.
