Jon Hamm was on Conan last night, promoting his first appearance as a recurring guest-star on 30 Rock tonight. As a Hamm-head (yeah, no, that’s not going to catch on), I was a little disappointed that Conan only asked Jon the same questions every interviewer asks him (“Where do you keep your Golden Globe?” “How do you smoke so many cigarettes on Mad Men?”), so I left those parts out. In this clip, Jon admits that the US Airways flight 1549 near-disaster was caused by his overwhelming handsomeness, and tells a funny story about hanging out with Jack MacBrayer.
A note to future interviewers of Jon Hamm: the guy is funny, and complex, and fascinating. Please stop asking him Kevin Costner-level questions like “Where do you keep your awards?” It just makes everyone look silly.

in that last 16 or so seconds, Hamm’s channeling some SERIOUS Paul-Rudd-esque comic timing and I love him all the more for it.

Shhyeah… I know I’m going to cop so much flack for this, but I honestly do not understand the physical appeal of Jon Hamm. I recognize that he is incredibly funny and charming, granted. INNER BEAUTY. I’m so with you. But when everyone keeps stating how outwardly handsome he is, I just have to look and, well… no. No? I just don’t get it.

Haha. If only I could be so sexually ambiguous. On the contrary, I’m entirely comfortable with my homosexuality, but Jon Hamm is just so far down the list for me. Like… on a second list, in the footnotes, mispelled.
