Oh man. Usually I rely on FAIL Blog for hilarious iPhone photos of Engrish misprints at the dollar store and videos of Russian Lady Sovereign destroying her living room. That is what makes it one of the best websites on the internet. It’s so good that sometimes I wish that my job was just to sit and read FAIL Blog all day. Secretary, I guess. Sometimes I wish my job was being a secretary.

But today FAIL Blog is keeping it a little TOO real with a heartbreaking (but also hilariousbreaking) Man Vs. Wild FAIL.

Ouch. I mean, we all remember when Bear Grylls was ruthlessly attacked in the LIBERAL ELITE MEDIA for spending his nights in luxury (i.e. not made of twigs held together with manure) hotels and not actually trapping himself in remote, life-threatening wilderness. But that’s all behind him/us now. It’s nothing but pure survival all the time for the superfans with him now. He hurt himself one time!

Whatever, this is so old anyway. Bear is changed, I can feel it in the water. The whole thing was photoshopped. Those cars in the background are total CGI. Also, this.

  1. Yeah, I remember seeing this video when I was 7 and thinking I’ll never be able to masturbate myself to Bear Grylls the same way again.

Also, I’m more than pleased with what Gabe and Lindsay have to offer here at Videogum, but when are we going to hear some scathing, ironic insight from Executive Editor Amrit Singh?

AMRIT! AMRIT! AMRIT! Your people are calling!

  2. Yeah I saw this video in like ’98, Gabe. Where have you been?

  3. slow “news” day?

  4. We all love fail blog of course. QED, sui generis, blog qua blog, de temps en temps. But can we talk about how terrible the comments section is at fail blog? It’s like you took the worst elements of Youtube (dumbasses and racists) and Gawker commenters (cat lady schadenfreude) and added a Yahoo Answers vibe for the sadness quotient.

  5. i don’t get it. where is the fail?

  6. i dont’ get it, where is the fail?

  7. I think that the fail blog is the one site that best encapsulates the internet as a whole. If aliens can see only one of our websites 10,000 years from now, I hope that it is the fail blog. Also, we’ll all be dead. Mortality burn!

  8. Yeah, granted I’ve never seen that show before, but I don’t understand the FAIL.. is it just that there are cars? I mean, it’s a TV show. But who is that guy going across it in the 2nd video?

The FAIL here goes to Gabe for posting a video everyone most likely saw in 2006!

  10. The Fail is due to the fact that MvW postulates that Bear’s “challenge” is not officially over until he finds civilization. The second video is trying to show that camera angles kept the truth from the audience in that Bear was actually very close to civilization and that his crossing over the chasm was quite unnecessary. Apparently it’s a an epic fail when something on TV is fake. ZOMG – IS LOST NOT REAL EITHER????

  11. “It’s so good that sometimes I wish that my job was just to sit and read FAIL Blog all day.” Wait, that’s not your job?
