There’s now a teaser trailer for the Donnie Darko unauthorizedish “sequel,” which is going direct to DVD in April, as it probably should:
If this teaser could speak to us, it would say:
“Remember the sister? No, not Maggie Gyllenhaal, the little sister. The one in Sparkle Motion. See, there she is, dancing with the rest of Sparkle Motion in her silver leotard. Remember when the chandelier collapsed? Remember the bunny? Remember that the first movie became a cult classic, but not in theaters, but on DVD? Remember that we want some money? Okay, that should be enough. Let’s break for lunch. Good job, guys.”

i didn’t care for donnie darko, so i don’t want to see the story through his little sister’s eyes…but ed westwick (chuck bass) is in the sequel so i might not be 100% opposed to watching s. darko.
the crazy sparkle motion mom was the best part of donnie darko.

Did you guys know Seth Rogan is in Donnie Darko? Cause i just watched Donnie Darko the other day, and Seth Rogan is totally in it.
I almost don’t believe this is real. Almost all the footage looks like it’s just some sort of re-cut version of the first movie….
Is that trailer entirely made up of footage from the original? God, I hope they just rearrange the scenes and call it an entirely new movie. That would make my year.
They already did that, it’s called the director’s cut. I for one was hoping for a cameo from Darko Milicic of the basketball Grizzlies.
