Normally here, we wouldn’t post an 8-minute clip of raw footage, because who has that kind of time, but this is just a very special case. It’s WORTH IT! This video, apparently filmed by a rubbernecking bystander, tells the story of a dog who fell through the ice, two cops who showed up without proper gear to save him, heroic rescuers who rush in at the last second, and a foul-mouthed family of four in crisis who, despite a last-ditch rescue attempt that leads to jail, manage to redeem themselves in the end. That was like the 2008 version of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This holiday season, let’s be grateful that our moms don’t curse like that one.

This is one of the funniest things ever.

“WHO LET THE DOG OUT THERE SIR? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE?”

And for the record, my mom kind of swears like that (not at emergency personnel, but still)

  3. That was terrible, I couldn’t watch it all.

“he went to jail because he’s a dumbass”

  5. the dog was as stupid as his owners — he was barking at the rescue guy and swimming away!

  6. I CANT TALK TO THE NEWS? I CANT TALK TO THE NEWS? I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA. IM SORRY I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA.

  7. “Oh come here baby… oh come here…. *hugs* WHERE’S THE F*%KING LEASH?!”

  8. I am nothing like these people I’m sure but if my dog fell in the ice (which happens) I would’ve reacted the same way. First they sit around for at least half an hour while watching the dog struggle? Giving them no clear answer or solution while remaining hostile? Then when they decide to just risk their own lives the cop stops him (fine) but gets in his face and continues to push him, grabbing his arm when he moves at all. I mean, how do you not punch the cop in the face in a situation like this? All their swearing makes incredible sense..and if you’re not convinced these foul mouthed people are the good guys, there’s the ending and the fact they called for help in the first place. They just didn’t want their dog to die a miserable death.

  9. Those cops are the worst. I understand why those people are so fucking pissed.

Uhh, what the hell did that guy do to go to jail? I understand them trying to keep him away from the ice but there’s no reason to arrest him except they were pissed he was screaming at them.
I feel so bad for those kids, ugh.

  11. I’m sorry but that was hilarious. Yeah, the police could have been better about calming him down and I can understand why he would be upset, but there is a point where you have to get some control over yourself. When this guy decided he was going to jump in the lake, the police were obligated to do something to protect his safety. When you act unpredictable, policemen are going to be on edge. And the guy had to take some responsibility for not keeping his dogs on a leash while walking around partially frozen lakes. The other dog wasn’t even on a leash after the first one fell in. Idiots.

  12. I wish this entire family had fallen in the lake and drowned. The world would be a better place.

Put a blanket or something around him, you morons! He doesn’t need you to pet his head and say “It’s OK”, he needs you to dry him off with a damn towel!!!!!!!!
