The holiday season is full of comforting traditions. Even the most cynical of us has some sensory trigger that gives us that momentary, child-eyed rush of holiday cheer. For me, it’s hearing TLC’s “Sleigh Ride.” It really takes me back to a more hopeful time, before Left Eye burned down that dude’s house. Before she died. Hearing it now, I can almost smell the Arby’s where they were probably playing this in the background. It really takes me back to that discount aisle at Sam Goody where they had a bin full of this on cassingle. 1992, never forget.
