Eek, another weak Saturday Night Live propped into respectability by Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. Anna Faris didn’t “suck”, per se, she just wasn’t in any good sketches. Here were the two funny parts, plus a fun CNN clip analyzing this week’s Palin-smashing. I’m still patiently awaiting the next T-Mobile commercial parody. Get on it, Sudeikis!

One of the funniest things about this, I thought, was the way they didn’t even try to hide Amy Poehler’s pregnancy this time. It was part of the joke:

Bill Clinton is a huge (and possibly the only?) fan of Californication:

And from real TV, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and John King can’t help but laugh while comparing Fey’s impression to Palin’s actual interview:

And I supposed Duffy was funny, in a high school talent show train wreck kind of way.

  1. Look, I wanna rub my breasts against Palin’s as much as the next girl (nullus)

But ENOUGH already with the “Palin as VP” prank (it *is* a prank, right?) ::looks around for the cameras::

  2. Hands down, “SNL” line of the night: http://tinyurl.com/3qrvtl

The Best Thing about this Tinna Fey as Sarah Palin skit- is that the SNL writers didn’t have to do anything- they just took Palins nonsensical words and used them verbatim. The only thing Tina Fey had to do was pull of the accent and the caught in the headlights look-which she did superbly.

What’s scary is that if you watch the real thing and the fake thing side by side- Tina Fey was spot on…it wasn’t an exaggeration. YIKES.

I think I love Tina Fey and Sarah Silverman a little more than what Sarah Palin would consider healthy. Yay me!

  4. Man I wish people would stop using Hulu. It doesn’t work for the majority of the Internet, including me. I don’t see anyone embedding the BBC iPlayer anytime soon.

  5. No digital short in this ep, right?

  6. my favorite part of the entire episode was during that really stupid Deep House Dish MTV4 sketch when Fred Armisten, Will Forte and the new fat guy were Bear Supply. That was the best 15 seconds of the entire episode!!! And what the hell SNL, more Will Forte please!

  7. speaking of californication, you guys have never posted about californication. you should make fun of californication.

  8. I thought Clinton thanking Duffy was the highlight of the episode. Also, Anna Ferris is infinitely better at obviously but not irritatingly reading from cue cards than James Franco.

  9. My favorite moment was the rubber car bouncing back up the clip only to explode at the top.

My favorite part, and I’m not sure it actually happened, but in the first sketch with the car I believe Anna Ferris said something like (talking about the couple at the party) “She was so funny” and Jason Sudeikis replied “Like a female Ellen.”
But I may have just misheard, because no one in the audience laughed.

    “That’s Because You’re Not a Maverick”

  12. Maybe in 2012 we could get a Hillary/Fey ticket.
