While I think we can all agree that it’s important for people to exercise their democratic right to vote, and to participate fully in the civic process that governs our lives, I’m pretty sure this Gwyneth Paltrow ad about absentee ballots is the worst thing.
“I’ll be voting from London, where I live with my millionaire husband. I mean, I’m a millionaire too, we’re both millionaires. We’re practically billionaires. Ha ha. No we’re not, but we have a TON of money. I could vote from America, we have houses there, but I’ll probably be in London because that’s where we have our biggest house. Everyone should vote, no matter where your biggest house is. We have houses all over the place!”

WHAT THE?
Vote in my day, votes from a broad didn’t count. Who do all these broads think they are? I should’ve known that the Obama campaign was behind women voters.
Yes, film uncentered ALL THE TIME, so that I am not in any way annoyed after 5 seconds. Make sure you shake the camera to maximize confusion and then zoom in on the face repeating the same mantras over and over again that I care nothing about. Also, get one celebrity..just one..that’s filmed slightly different, in a slightly different set with slightly different editing so that I’m left wondering if she was taken hostage and forced to talk on camera only to be beheaded minutes later.
I’m officially not voting for an entire month..that’s how awful this ad is. Fortunately the important election is in Nov.
Wow. this is the first time that listing through videogum isn’t actually a waste of time. I in fact live abroad and will use this service…rools. OH WAIT! I made sure i wasn’t a lazy shit american in the first place and registered and got my absentee ballot ahead of time.
Considering that the absentee ballot application is not available online for Ohio voters, telling people that they can vote if they have a computer is kind of stupid. The form still has to be mailed in, and, get this: If you are voting from out of the country, your shit can be late and it will still count. Amazing.
That, and the girl who kept saying she was “born to vote Democrat” is a great way to piss off Republican absentee ballot voters.
