A Russian director remade Sidney Lumet’s 12 Angry Men, and renamed it 12. Trailer:

The 1957 American film is notable in part because with a couple minor exceptions, the whole thing takes place in the jury room. But I understand director Nikita Mikhalkov’s need to get out of the confines of a closed set-piece in order to show the prisoner dancing in his cell. The prisoner dancing in his cell was always alluded to in the original (it was never alluded to), but it’s very powerful to actually see it (powerful is the Russian word for silly). The part where stuff blows up is pretty awesome, though. Right, America? Very claustrophobic. Very psychological.

  1. at least the other remake had Jack Lemmon. That having been said, I will see this film strictly to bitch about it.

Actually this looks kind of awesome. I know a lot of people who should totally see “12 Angry Men” but won’t because it lacks color, dancing and explosions. Just like how I really should read War and Peace but won’t until it comes out in manga form.

  3. I hope there is a lot of nudity. Male or female.
