Here’s the trailer for the Sideways prequel Bottle Shock, you guys:

U-S-A! U-S-A! Isn’t it amazing how when a few plucky California vignerons turned the wine industry on its head in the 1970s they totally changed the way Americans thought about wine, transforming it from the snobbish elixir of the status conscious elite into an unpretentious grog that everyone could enjoy? Oh, whoops.

Personally, I find these depictions of highbrow esthetes vs. bumbling rubes totally condescending no matter who proves they’re more than they seem. It’s as close as our culture gets to a Martin Lawrence movie without having to hire any actual black people. Then again, what do I know. I probably like lattes (I don’t mind lattes).
