(Via Dead-Frog), Lewis Black was on NPR’s Talk Of The Nation last week when some jerk named Steve called in to complain about Lewis “degrading the culture like The Simpsons and The Family Guy and South Park.” Lewis takes it surprisingly personally while pointing out how wrong this guy is, and doesn’t take kindly to the Family Guy comparison:

It’s funny that Steve had to sit on the line and listen to the whole thing. Steve from Cleveland is a class-a moron.

You’ve a link to the TV movie of The Woman In Black too haven’t you? I know! Adrian Rawlins who played my dad in Potter played my part in the original The Woman In Black TV movie. I like the idea that the Potter family has the monopoly on this character.

I thought I was going to cringe when I pressed play (I really can’t handle other people’s awkward moments), but I didn’t. I think Lewis Black handled himself pretty well. I bet Steve gets his laughs from Wayne Brady.

  3. I actually listened to this in it’s podcast form. I’m usually not that big a fan of Lewis Black, but thought I might give it a shot because my friend is. I actually gained a little respect when I came to find that he’s not really as angry or crotchety as his performances tend to make him seem. It was nice to hear his views and personal stories, some more serious than funny. I thought he handled himself rather well, here, with that caller.

I once had a boss who called The Simpsons “ignorant” (which was the most ironic thing ever). People like that need to be stripped of certain rights and weaned off of their shit TV fixes.
