Just a year after the loss of Flower to a snake bite, Animal Planet has finally confirmed that Rocket Dog Whiskers (her full name) died in April after she was run over by a ca– what? She was run over by a car, which is the Meerkat Manor equivalent of a Survivor contestant being killed by aliens. The dominant female of the Whiskers clan is the focus of the new season, which premiered Friday, though her death occurred after filming wrapped for the season. I’m sorry, I know it’s terrible, and I love Meerkat Manor, and animals, but the fan tribute videos to fallen Meerkats just crack me up.
Judging by the number of tributes, fans have been mourning Rocket Dog since early May. Rest in peace, Rocket Dog. You’ll always be the “Kalahari Princess” of people’s hearts.

Agreed. An obit of a meerkat is great enough, but knowing that there’s a tribute video makes me want to post a picture of Jack Nicholson & a sheet of a paper online because anything is possible.
