As part of the marketing campaign for Wall-E, Pixar has launched a fake website for the fake mega-corporation, Buy-n-Large. It’s got fake ads for fake medicine, fake annual reports, fake news headlines, and a fake outlook on a fake future in which everyone is living in a giant Target commercial. It’s hard to pinpoint where in the Wall-E story this company is supposed to be in control of the planet (although my guess is sometime in the year 2000 and Mountain Dew), as I was under the impression that Wall-E had been left behind to clean up Earth after all the humans had died and/or evacuated from too much women be shoppin’. But if this viral marketing site is any indication, this is going to be the funniest children’s movie about the dangers of mass consumerism of the summer!
