The 81st annual Scripps National Spelling Bee concluded Friday with Sameer Mishra taking home the trophy, but not before giving the usually tense contest a moment of memorable age-appropriate humor. The audience broke into giggles when Sameer was asked to spell a word that both he and the audience initially thought was “numbnut” (via DCeiver):
