There’s a new documentary coming out about steroid use from the producers of Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 called Bigger, Faster, Stronger*. Here’s the trailer:

I think there’s definitely something interesting to be said about the thoroughly American impulse for everything including bodies to be gigantic, and the hyper-competitiveness of contemporary professional sports, and the celebrity culture of being something more than human. And hopefully this documentary touches on those things. But this trailer is kind of weird. It seems like it’s just a guy doing a Michael Moore impression going around telling people on steroids how steroids are bad. And only ten dollars for a ticket, you say? BEEFCAKE!
